I just returned from my 5th dive trip to Bayahibe. I did the Saona island tour (not a diving tour) with my wife and we did the Catalina island dive & snorkel tour with Scuba Fun. Catalina island is a lot closer to Bayahibe and the diving & snorkeling is a lot better.

Of course their customer service is good, they have had a lot of practice at it repairing or replacing their defective computers.

Most of which is totally unnecessary for a new open water diver. A Ratio iX3M 2 Pro is a lot better suited for a new OW diver and still has the option to upgrade the software to tech IF it becomes necessary.

The Dive Rite Hydro Lite is a great BC and not advanced, It will serve you well for years. The only thing I might do is replace the bottom velcro tank strap with a proper cam strap the same as the top tank strap.

If your not stuck on Aqua Lung, then I would recommend the Dive Rite Hydro Lite. Dive Rite is a well respected company that has been in business for a long time.

That's a lot of BC. Unless you take a size small that has 29 lbs of lift, the "wing" is way over sized. 42 lbs of lift is enough for a set of doubles.
