    Cave Navigation Book

Attached are examples from the book showing examples of marking a T junction, a jump using a single (team) marker, and a jump using personal markers on the jump line. There are multiple examples of each situation in the book. Showing the line coming from different directions, different layouts...

    Cave Navigation Book

So I finally got to read the book after having it delivered to the UK. It still cost $50 all together with shipping which was excessive, but it is a quality book. It is definitely written from a Mexico cave perspective but I believe most of what it says applies to us in Florida as well. As...

    Doubles Wing Recommendation

Another vote for the Dive rite classic XP. It took me a while to pull the trigger on it because I thought it was too much wing for me but it has been perfect. From double ALU 80s all the way up to double LP104s with an Alu40 deco and an ALU 80 stage, it can handle them all. It is a great wing...

Question Do you take detailed notes on your dives?

When I first started diving Ginnie I drew a map of the lower section, with all the lines and intersections and kept it in my wet notes. I have only had to look at it once, (when I got confused doing the Expressway tunnel for the first time), but it was always reassuring knowing I had it should I...

    Review Review: Orcatorch ZD710

I was given the light in return for posting a review on it. I had been looking at a buying a different Orcatorch light, but I saw the ad for testers here on Scubaboard so ended up with the Zoomable light instead.

    Review Review: Orcatorch ZD710

I was fortunate to test the OrcaTorch ZD710 Zoomable dive light. For the test dive I took the light to Ginnie Springs in North Central Florida. I was curious how the narrow vs wide angle beams would look in the cave. The two photos were taken outside the spring, showing the size of the light on...

    Sold! AL 50

I agree, I know they can be hard to find, but they aren't impossible. Craigslist is a good place to look for random sized tanks.

    Sold! AL 50

The 50, and then moving up to 63's for my daughter worked great for us. I think it is a good progression while still having plenty of air for them.

    Sold! AL 50

I've actually shipped a tank to California once before using Fedex. And it was a steel HP130! The buyer paid the shipping but I guess it wasn't that expensive in relation to the tank cost.

    Sold! AL 50

    Following Line in Large Passages

I have a question regarding how close you guys stay to the mainline in the bigger passages (eg Bone Line at Ginnie). I really want to explore all of these bigger rooms / areas, rather than just swimming along close to the main line and only seeing a small portion of the cave. But then I wonder...

What dive shop to rent from?

I'm a TDI trained diver, but EE has fast become one of my favorite dive shops. Their service is incredible, they are extremely friendly, and they have always made me feel welcome. I start and end all my Ginnie trips there now for fills, tank rentals, and gear purchases. Not being a GUE diver...

    Advice on deco reg set

I've used the DGX deco first stage for 4 years now for 100% O2 deco. and it has worked great for me (diving at the AN/DP level). It is super cheap and for the cost of a reg service you can buy another one, or they sell the service kits. I have had no issues with mine. I use an Oceanic Alpha 8...

???Future of Open Circuit Mixed Gas and Rebreather Diving???

For me, I started noticing that when I was relaxed, doing very little effort, and in great conditions, I felt fuzzy narcosis symptoms. But if I was working hard, or not breathing efficiently, I got a totally different kind of symptoms more related to CO2. The big difference for me was headaches...
