    Cheapest place in Dallas?

Hey, welcome to Scubaboard and Texas Swamp Divers. One word of advice: Best deal and cheapest aren't always the same thing and you often get what you pay for. Please read this and the link in my signature.

Oceanic and AERIS Recalling Digital Dive Computers Due to Decompression Hazard

Damn Canadians. Just because they have universal health care they think they can get away with anything. I need to go watch Canadian Bacon again.

    Cave Dive Video

Edd over at Cave Adventures has some trailers (http://www.caveadventurers.com/), I would reconfirm your reservations about 3 times though; his system of post-it notes seems to have some issues. The other cheap place I often stay at is the Ramada Inn on 90 West of 273/271/whatever that road is.

I don't think his double negative didn't confused you. "Tec will NOT be inexpesive"

Are we traveling in a full circle?

That's what they actually did. Not sure if it was Sheck's idea or one of his contemporaries but they needed some way to keep from silting out the cave on every dive. As I understand, they would have the jugs on a string that they could pull over their heads so it would catch their exhaust...

Are we traveling in a full circle?

I doubt we'll ever see the loss of bells and whistles on BC's. They are a great selling point to the newly carded OW diver or someone who doesn't see any benefit to a minimalist approach. If a shop had nothing but a wall full of backplates and wings and then another wall full of Mares HUB's or...

Thoughts on OMS bladders with stretch cords

PFord can actually see drag. It's an amazing ability.

    poodle jacket

I didn't realize it was derogatory myself. I'll add it to my ever growing list of words that are verboten.

Thoughts on OMS bladders with stretch cords

You'll die if you use the Bungeed Wings of Death!! j/k I do like the DR style better as they are under the wing where they can't get hung up. Also, the DR seem more designed to change the shape and maximum size of the wing, not so much to crunch the wing down when not inflated thus there is...

    poodle jacket

A poodle jacket is a term for the standard BC. Not sure if that includes backinflate or not. Edit: Man, you people are fast.

    brightstar bulbs

I may be wrong but I don't think you can't simply replace a W/A bulb with a BS bulb as they require different ballasts.

    Narcosis??

Lightheadedness is not a usual symptom of narcosis. Narcosis only exists at depth and has no lingering effects once you ascend. I have no idea what is causing your lightheadedness but I would recommend calling DAN and asking them. They are always very helpful. Edit: Wow, 3 other replies...

Running your BCD / Dry suit off your Pony?

I wouldn't think it would be worth the effort. A 35# lift BC is around .5 cuft in volume full inflated (if my in-my-head calcs are right). If your RMV is around .5 CFM then fully inflating your BC at any depth only takes 1 min off of your dive time at that depth. I can't imagine that even...

    New diver/Equipment set up

Well, way back when I definitely could tell the difference between my Conshelf 14 and my DS4/ATX50 (even at 10'). Perhaps the Conshelf wasn't well tuned. I didn't know enough at the time to suspect that perhaps the LDS servicing it didn't know what they were doing.

Making the break in to Tech Diving...

It's possible I suppose but I've never seen anyone use a system like that for doubles. There is no way I would use something like that with steel tanks as I doubt the fit would be tight enough but you might be able to get by with it for double 80's. I wouldn't take it into an overhead...

Making the break in to Tech Diving...

And if you feel you must have a computer, stay away from the D9. Also, most profiles where diving nitrox mixtures (< 120'), I never mess with 2 deco mixes; 1 gas is usually enough (thus something like a Nitek Duo is appropriate). The only time I am using more than 1 deco gas is when diving mix...

    Buoyancy Issues

He's trying to change it right now but you keep fighting him. Mike, Thal, TS&M, PFord and others on this board are working hard to educate new divers about the fundamentals of diving and what they can do to overcome the shortcomings in their OW instruction. They are also trying to convince...
