I like the computer but do not like the compass attached. I have a hard time holding it correctly since it is attached to the hose - it puts is at a weird angle so it gets stuck a lot. I think I would have rather had a plain compass - I think the cost is about the same. Of course, this could be...
- I learned that my husband can go through a tank of air REALLY fast
- That I shouldn't dive with my camera on the first dive of a trip...need to get comfortable first
- I like boat diving better than shore diving when in Grand Cayman
- I really need to lose weight and get in shape!
Thanks for the info Phil - I never opened a ticket because I knew there were so many others out there already and I've been following the progress here. I guess I'll work on my patience skills - my husband tells me all the time that I need practice ;-)

I was using the built in flash at varying distances from the other divers. Only one picture turned out but I have no idea why it did and the others didn't. The distance for that picture wasn't different from some of the others I took.
It was daylight, with some of the pictures in the shallow...
My husband bought me the new Sea&Sea camera for Xmas - I took it to the pool this last weekend to test it out before we got to Grand Cayman on Saturday. I assumed this would be an easy point and shoot camera but of the 20 or so pictures I took, only one is really visible. The others are varying...
Welcome - where in VA are you moving?
I'm new to this so I've only been to Dutch Springs quarry in PA. It's about a 3.5 hour drive north from NoVA. Quite a few people dive dry - I've always used a 7mm.
Millbrook quarry is another popular place for training. It's closer to NoVA but I've heard...
Zak - how do I find out if my Nemo Air got registered? I was under the impression that the dive shop sent that in with my regulator registration. Any update on the software? I've got a few dives on there that I really don't want to lose.
Thanks,
Julie
I have 24 open water dives with only 10 of those from a boat in Key Largo - I am still learning but I do know what I can/can't handle. If I have a problem I want a DM there to help me (the keep me safe part) until I get more comfortable and confident. I don't have enough experience to know how I...
I am ok with starting a new post - I am really interested in the responses and I think some of the earlier posts intimidated people from answering. I am passionate about this subject because I am a new diver and I know first hand how quickly things can become deadly. I want to learn but I also...
I found that Glaceau Smart Water works the best for me. Tried potassium and magnesium tablets before diving, bananas, plain water, stretching but it didn't help. Now I drink a bottle before the dive and during SI - haven't had a problem since.
I have 24 dives - I am still learning but I do know what I can/can't handle. If I have a problem I want a DM there to help me (the keep me safe part) until I get more comfortable and confident. I don't want a DM taking the group off somewhere outside of my training level just to see cool stuff...
I voted for Show me cool stuff, watch my air pressure and depth, keep me safe and not exceed my training but I think it should have been Show me cool stuff, keep me safe and not exceed my training
Thanks for starting this - I've had the same question being a new diver. The Baltimore Aquarium volunteer program requires 30 logged dives - I have 2 pool entries in there because they were long (90 min) and I wanted to remember what I had worked on since it was practice for my wreck cert. Also...
Did you ask your doctor what he thought? I had mine done on June 18th and was in the pool for my OW classes on the 28th, then July 4th for the open water portion. They were dives in a quarry and I put my gear on in the water. I look back now and realize that it was probably stupid to rush it. My...
I had an ACL recon done in Sept. of 03 using my hamstring (not sure about the double bundle part). Six weeks later I spent 9 days walking around Disney World. I put suregery off for years but am so glad that I finally did it. I wasn't a diver then but I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to...
