    What' Up with Draeger

This is a copy of an email that I recieved. The following statement is direct from Draeger headquarters in Germany and is what was received by the DDA staff: " Several actions were initiated to consider how we could break into this difficult market and realize a return on investment...

    OMS and their Bungeed Wing

I have been using the OMS dual bladder system and back plate for a year now and have had NO problems with it. Yes you can orally inflate with bungies. The WAR over to bungy or not to bungy has been going on for so long its now boring. Each has benifits that the other does not. Wreck diving I...

    Ontario Wrecks

The Arabia is a dive for the experienced. I have been on it when vis is 10ft and a bad current and then again when vis has been 30ft and no current. Temp hoovers around 43 most of the summer. The deck around the anchors is caving in but the rest of her hasn't degraded to much since I first dove...

DIR... what is it, or who are they???

That's it. I'm not true DIR. I use some of the teaching and equipment set up, but that's it. It still comes down to personal preferance. If you do your buddy checks on the boat or shore before you start your dive, and when you get in the water you will be a safer buddy. Knowing your equipment...

DIR... what is it, or who are they???

This has got to be the most debated topic on the net. It is quite interesting to note that the for's and the against never realy change, the numbers stay about the same. Folks, does it not come down to safe diving practases, that are covered in all courses. Like all divers are supposed to do...

    IANTD or TDI?

Up grading your skills is always a good idea. I have taken courses through TDI and have found them to be informative and interesting. I still think it comes down to the Instructor and there teaching skills. I do not think that I could handle someone behind me yelling STROKE, STROKE. Think...

    Looking for Cold Water Regulators

I have two DS4 first stages and have never had a problem with them. I have the TX50 second stage and the DST first stage also. I use the DST on my sling because it allows me to direct all my hoses downwards. The DS4's go on the dbls along with the TX50 and a Omega second stage. Great set up. If...

Lady Diver, would tyhat be a 3 mil cap? If it was it is made by a company in Ontario and distributed as Squid Cap. It looks like a baseball cap. They are kind of cool. o2diver

    Hair and mask problems?

Ladie Diver, same suggestion that I had. I have also seen people cut up a 3 mil hood. The cut out the face bigger and cut out holes for the ears. I f the hood has a bib it gets cut out too. The neoprene mask strap cover works for me also, and I have short hair. When I'm not in the pool with...

    Spare Air or Pony?

Go with the pony bottle, it allows you more oppertunities to change gear configuration and amount of spare air you have. It also allows you to use the bottle for deco gas.

On the fast train or slow on?

Good question, Friends have been discussing this very subject. We hecided it depends on your weight system. If you have intergrated weights that are not on a rip-cord, then you can drop one side and control your accent. If you just have a weight belt, then we agree with Eric. Kicking to the...

    How many here are DIR?

Eric, I hate to say this, but if a buddy check is done prior to a dive you know where your buddy's gear is. Does this only get taught in George's Course? I hope not. As for OMS or Dive Rite, ETC you know as well as I do that you will get flamed for saying that you own any of that gear. It...

    How many here are DIR?

Hi all, I, like others, take what we need from all the systems out there, and fit it to our diving styles. I like to call it D.I.S. "Doing It Safe" Cheers o2diver

    OMS

Hi Remora, I have my 98's dbled up and so far have not had a problem. A friend of mine bought hers a year before me and only one of the tanks had a problem. OMS said they had two bad batches that this has happened to. I think they were both in 97. I have a 125 and a 46 and they are both ok also...

    Steel tank ?..again

Sorry Jon, Rick, Yes I agree with you on the weight difference. I guess my point was more that it would be better for warhammers other half to wear the weight on her back than on her hips. Choosing the steel would put the weight on her back, choosing the AL would put the weight on her hips...

    Steel tank ?..again

Jon, my oms tanks are 6lbs neg. at the start of a dive, but will be neutrally bouyant at the end of the dive if I suck all the air out of them. The same cannot be said of AL tanks. AL's are not neutrally bouyant, they will be positively bouyant at the end of a dive, which will require the diver...

    Steel tank ?..again

I have been diving OMS tanks for 3 Years and have had no problems with them. I own DBL 98s, single 121 and a 46 for a deco bottle. I really enjoy the 121 as I can get two great dives off of the one tank. If I have any doubts about not having enough air I sling the deco bottle for the second...

    sherwood regulators

Not to sound like a flame but when did you last have it serviced? Is it due for its yearly? If it is due, the tech should be able to have that fixed with parts out of the service kit. Just to make sure you should mention it when you take it in. DSAO o2diver

I am cold!! Any ideas? (Drysuit diving)

Just read an ad for a product that you might find of interest. Company is called XCM and they now have a computer controled heating system for divers. In the UK it is distributed by Typhoon. Email address is: http://www.typhoon-int.co.uk Check them out it sounded interesting. In the US it is...
