I have laced mine on through the grommets with 3/8 inch bungee cord. I was always getting poked by the cut off ends of the zap straps. (Canadian for zip ties).
I have used both, like them both equally. The Sherwood is a little more rugged. The TUSA is a classic design that has been used with modifications for many years. Get whichever you like and take care of it.
