I hate to do it but my arthritic hands are slowing me down and my days of repairing regulators (other than mine and my family) are over. I was given the yellow one back in 1979 when I started working at Smith Diving in Minneapolis. I got the black one in 1989, when I already owned my own store...
Let me try to clarify something, I think the OP is looking for an opportunity to dive for two adults and maybe going to leave the kids somewhere to play. I have gone through this route before. It really depends when you ship arrives and leaves. Unless you boat gets there early you will probably...
When I was there last February the tour operator that we used offered cave diving to certified cave divers. Nobidy else in the group was Cave certified so I didn't go diving.
You can take the wood less graphite pencils and shrink wrap them with Shrink wrap tubing used for electrical wiring. I even put a loop of cave line on my pencil so I could attach it to my notebook. My pencil has lasted over 10 years without getting replaced. as it wears I just use a knife to...
If you just want to work on your own gear, go with deep 6 or Hog. If you want more experience professionally get a part time job at a dive store and impress the owner with you mechanical skills and your skills with documentation. I owned a dive store for 30 years, during that time I only had one...
I will agree with all that chuck_ed pointed out. In the late 70's we would huff it down the "goat path" and swim out to the wreck. That was when we were young and invincible. We were also in really good shape. As the group got bigger and diver experience got more diversified (new Lake Superior...
Caleta is the main marina where most of the dive boats used on the island come to rest after a day of diving. Some dive operators do not have a location/ storefront anywhere else because it saves them a lot of money. If you look at a goggle satellite map is is just south of the Intercontinental...
I have a collection of Undercurrent magazines that start May 1981 to September 2005. Some years are incomplete. I have no 1988 and only one for 1989. Ben Davidson the original publisher switched to In Depth from December 94/ January 95 edition and ended in March 1997. Undercurrent continues...
You are not carrying it a mile are you? If you are any scooter would be a pain in the neck to carry. If you meant diving a site a mile of shore, a Gavin would work great. FYI Batteries are cheap and they have one of the longest track records for scooters right now.
Hey Cameron, how serious are you about a scooter? I have a Gavin scooter with a standard body and short body. 2 battery packs. Did you get the packages?
Jim
I have this lot of Aqualung Powerline spare parts for $65 + shipping. These all came from rental BCD's that were salvaged. Both inflator systems were checked for function. All the other parts were Visually inspected. post and PM me.
