totally - I did a trip recently carrying gear one hour through the bush to do a cave trip -hurt my knee and that put more workload on the others to help - next time well hire a farm quad or something
Id say the DAN disclaimer is based on the data profile of the typical diver in regard to age and weight and maybe sedentary work
I know for myself I find its pretty hard work carrying gear and if youve got a light current its hard work over a long dive
Its not that they wouldnt be capable of doing the dive its just that there are more and more gaps appearing in their knowledge and training which increases the chance of it going pear shaped and the balance shifts from you diving with a buddy to you becoming a dive guide and its not so much fun...
some information has been better researched and theres more up to date knolwedge
equipment has got better and probably more customisable
Dive computers play a significant role now
theres probably more awareness of hazards and things that can go wrong in the training and general diving community...
with practice you can use the dry suit to put a bit of air in the feet ,it feels a bit odd but it works -the rk3 are on the light side but I dont think they have the forward thrust and power that the heavier fins do- have you could try a longer recreational fin that are light an will give you...
i wont disagree with your post but were talking about two different things - you mentioned in your previous post the problems associated with a warm water only dive instructor teaching someone and then that student going to cold water -in that situation its on the student to adapt or if...
That is certainly the case when you transfer from tropical to cold it takes a few dive to readjust -however it behoves the diver to adapt to the conditions they are diving in, cant really blame any one for inadequacies -if your a technical diver esp cave, one would expect a higher than average...
