    Standardization of Hand Signals

I think youll find that over time the gas remaining signal will be replaced by the turn around signal or the end dive signal. As you get more experience youll find that you and your dive buddies will mysteriously start thinking the same way - The only time I ask my buddy how much gas they've got...

the good news is you can practice your sidemount skills in shallow water -lets say 12m - then go pro yourself to see what its happening with trim -500-1m variation sounds like you might be overweight - take off a kilo and practice - repeat at 6m you will use the same skill set at 12m as you do...

Which do you think is less dangerous at 160ft? Open-circuit air or CCR trimix?

ive never met a ccr diver yet that has brought one to save money - generally they buy them because its the right tool for the diving they are doing and theyre awesome in terms of iberating you from some OC diving parameters ccr diving is intensive both in and out of the water if your worried...

    Dive Accident Insurance Limitations

Which do you think is less dangerous at 160ft? Open-circuit air or CCR trimix?

single risk? -its risk you cant escape from unless you ascend, like all things its ok until it starts going pear shaped - having to make critical decisions while you're narced is a bad situation but the decision making needs to be done now not when your 30m higher up the water column and at 7...

    rEvo modifications, tweaks and customisations

this is spot one - my conclusion is if you doing deep stuff ( below 75m) then you need to not be having to add one more tasks than you need to - assuming youve got your skills sorted deep diving is 90% mental. I dont like doing deep dives with all sorts of -"if this happens Ill do this...

Cold water diving - we LOVE it!

i think cold water diving is more challenging because you are dressed like the Michelin man and everything is harder to manipulate- it also tiring as your body works hard to keep warm - Once your hands get cold it becomes difficult to address any issues Coldest /longest diver was just over 4...

Question Do you cave dive exactly the way you teach people to cave dive? Do you cave dive the way you were taught?

some teach a knotted tie off that cant come undone in either direction without physically untying as opposed to a wrap and lock

Anyone else really nervous in the beginning?

for some its about spatial references eg deep dark bottomless ocean -i suggest finding a nice sloping bottom to explore and just going back and forward about 1or 2 m above the floor starting shallow and slowly going deeper - keeping the visual reference in eye shot - ask someone you trust to...

Question Do you cave dive exactly the way you teach people to cave dive? Do you cave dive the way you were taught?

I dont follow -if you started with 200 and you turn at 130 youve used 70 Bar to get where you are which means you need 140 to get you and your buddy back to surface? and thats bare minimum and with empty tanks

Question Do you cave dive exactly the way you teach people to cave dive? Do you cave dive the way you were taught?

things I wasnt taught - I solo dive on occasion things i dont do - a knotted secondary tie off (just a wrap or hitch) thing I wont do - visual jumps

    New bailout standards

I guess you could use the plan you have and enter the BO consumption rate as you usually do then enter a higher number and calculate the difference at least enter the higher number and check the plan to see what depth you are after 10 min the do a recalculation

    New bailout standards

    you dont have this option?
  18. lermontov

    New bailout standards

under BO settings theres a box for bottom gas rate- if you allow the maximum usage at the deepest section then by default all other stops/consumption rates wil be covered

Optimal Pony Bottle Size for Failure at 100ft?

however the OP never mentioned going to 39m - you introduced that and then created an argument about it with some obscure ascending regime might make it if he didnt spend a minute waiting every 3m wasting his gas

Optimal Pony Bottle Size for Failure at 100ft?

as opposed to watching your computer to monitor depth every 3m and counting 10 seconds -but now your introducing more conditions to support your argument (just like you introduced Oil rigs) when what were talking about is running OOA and switching to a pony on an NDL dive
