    Bungie cords for bottom timers

These two establishments around me do not carry any shock/bungee cord other than the 10 inch stuff. There is an REI around me so I guess I will try that to find some. Thanks for the info; never thought to look there. :banghead:

    BC recommendation for tropical diving

I would like to say that I agree completely with herman's responce earlier on the board. However, I feel that diving in a BP/WING would be the only way to go regardless of warm/cold. You might require an aluminum/SS plate depending on the temp., but I always dive with a plate and would advise...

DUI Weight and Trim II- Any users?

I love the unit.....makes everything confortable and neat. To be quite honest with you....it is the difference between driving a 1986 Honda Corolla and a Rolls Royce where a "standard" weight belt represents the carolla (LOL). Hope this helps.

Cochran Captain vs Uwatec Bottom Timer

I have a uwatec bottom timer and love the unit. I would have my doubts with that, or any Cochran units, based on this report below. I only dove with a Nemisis IIa Nitrox back 6 years ago several times, so I really do not have a lot of personal information but I hope this helps...

Need some new camstraps * Whats your favorite

I love the Dive Rite cam straps. I have never had a problem with them, but I have also heard scubapro ones are very good too. I hope this helps.

    backplate bc advice needed

I have an aluminum Dive Rite bp and love it. However, I just purchased a Hammerhead SS backplate and it is my favorite. Might want to give them a good looking at (www.hammerheadscuba.com). As for wings, you might want to check out Oxycheq's doughnut wings.....very well made. Also, take a...

    Signed up for DIR-F...

Hey El Orans, Enjoy the DIR-F class. I have not talked to a person who said that it was not one of the most useful class they have ever taken. When it comes to the 5-7 foot hose, I guess the best method is to try both of them out. However, I too am a realist and realize that that would be...

Experienced Divers: Will You Dive With Newbies?

I would definently dive with a new diver on "fun" dives. How else are they going to learn what to do and not to do unless they dive with others who generally know what they are doing. Common everyone.....be a mentor so you can make the diving better for everyone.

    Hammerhead Backplate

You can order the backplate without handles which is what I did. I heard that the handles are useful for carrying the plate, wings, and STA, but not with the tank on obviously.

    Hammerhead Backplate

Nah man....I am not connected to a dive shop. Yes I am a DIR diver, but I just wanted to throw that out there.

    Hammerhead Backplate

After diving a OMS backplate for about 2 years, I decided to get a new one. I purchased a hammerhead (steel plate and heavy weight STA) and all I can say is WOW. It did not pinch me like the OMS one did and is made very well. If you are considering switching, I highly recommend you look at them.
