Great thread. A couple of questions I could use opinions on. Just finished the drysuit course and will be renting for awhile until I decide on a suit type. I’m looking at a bp/w to accomodate salt and fresh ds diving, which I’d buy now to get used to it and avoid renting a larger lift bcd...
Thanks Akimbo. Of note, the dark mode pages seem to display different than light mode- the page functions appear at the top in light mode, not in dark mode?
I just heard about this incident from perusing scuba related vids on youtube (Divers Ready channel). Absolutely horrifying and tragic… I sure hope something positive comes out of this for future diver training and standards.
According to Divetech’s Facebook page they have opened up the Cobalt Coast location for shoredives. Looks like a dive shop and restaurant on site as well. Appreciate any reports if anyone is diving there. I’m keen to try it on my next trip. Link from their website.

If you are staying on the west end with a west end dive op don’t pick accommodations based on the op. Most ops pick up and drop off free anywhere from Georgetown right up to Lighthouse point. You can stay almost anywhere you want.
Living the Dream divers. Excellent boats, crew and service.
Cayman University Divers. With CUD you just might have the boat to yourselves that time of year. I used CUD four times - twice there were 3 divers and twice 2 divers. Brad is an excellent guide and really knows how to find the...
There was an article in the Spring DAN magazine about lobster divers and their incidences of DCI. They could be in need of good used gear? My impression was they don’t have computers.. perhaps they could use old working computers. Maybe they wouldnt use them anyway since it appears economic...

VI’s are still on my bucket list. Will have to research on it’s recovery status. For now, GC is our go to place- non diving spouse so we like the clean and safe topside and long beach while I’m gone, short rides to dive sites (often back by 1130). Easy flights.
