    Atomic SS1 experience

Well, the 420 turned out to be a disaster . I do have a g250, but I much prefer the breathing characteristics of the d400. The 260 is too rich for my blood for what I understand to be minor improvement over its cousin.

    Atomic SS1 experience

In my 51 years of diving I like to take advantage of all the modern conveniences. I probably fine tune my wind at least a couple of dozen times per dive to maintain an optimal state of buoyancy wherever I am. Honestly, I don't have enough confidence in my d400 or double hose to dispel with a...

    Atomic SS1 experience

Never. I use a traditional safe second. That's why I said "seems". What's your take on air sharing and controlled ascent w/ ss1?

XS Scuba Clear-Path buckle on sale (and mini review)

The last time I was in Roatan I was diving my double hose, hanging out in vertical trim towards the blue, lazily watching the other divers in my group poking along on the wall 50' away. All of a sudden a good sized baracuda flashed close by my right shoulder and stopped on a dime to give me the...

Sharing air and controlling ascent seems too complicated for me.

    Review Forcefin comfort is amazing!

And you can wiggle your toes! I will often have people tell me the straps on my FFs are loose and dangling. The FF's are so efficient in forward propulsion that they will creep up on your foot as they push you along.

    Roatan reef bleaching/ health?

Underwater conditions in Roatan are not good. I was on Cozumel last October and found conditions much better. I am going back to Roatan in May. I like to get wet, and the wreck and swim throughs are fun. I enjoy the West End surface experience much more than San Miguel. The daily influx of...

Lessons My sidemount cylinder valve spun itself completely shut during a dive

The 1/4 turn thing is the kind of thing that can drive 20 pages of low calorie discussion. It’s not a very important topic.

Question Which Height [holes] Do You Use With An XDeep NR Wing W/Large Stainless Steel Plate?

The ~ 1" Channel in the plate places the tank and can to sit away from your back. The standard backplate is just not a great fit for DH.

Question Which Height [holes] Do You Use With An XDeep NR Wing W/Large Stainless Steel Plate?

If you want the best experience for mounting a DH regulator grab this plate from @Nemrod if it is still available. Works great for single hose, too. These are getting very rare. https://scubaboard.com/community/threads/black-vdh-plate.655120/
