In the end it is your life support device and maybe someone's else's as well in the future. Stuff happens and if you question your gear then fix it. Be it new be it completely overhauled. I have an older apeks and love it and will buy another soon.

John on what premise did you determine they were bad tanks? Not trying to pick on you but from what I read they can be hydro tested vip etc. So I don't see a technical base's vs personal opinion.

Interesting. . Info. Seems almost like a crime that they make a lp tank but rate its size at the + rating. So if you ever lose the plus or end up at a lds that didn't understand the ratings you loose out on fills.
So do most dive with lp or hp. Or does it really matter. I'm a typical gear...
Don't think I had a short fill, we had 4 tanks between the 2 of us and all were at 2400 PSI, and pretty sure that is what they are stamped for. To be honest the 2 of us had pretty much identical psi starting and ending"500" on both dives. Im just thinking I have a bad SAC rate and to have any...
Sorry if these seems like a duh Q but.
Deciding on size of tank? How do you pick a size? Im 5"10 and have a PST 130 tank. I have borrowed some blue steel LP 95 2400PSI and it just seems like a much smaller tank in terms of dive time. They say its a 95 but It just doesn't seem like a 95. My...
Sorry you have a sticker on your tank... its flawed.... better not fill it.
I think LDS need to relax a little. Tanks in industry get beat up, dropped rolled around, all the time. I bet SCUBA tanks as a whole are treated like a kings compared to other HP tanks. Yes they can be dangerous...
Started diving years ago and used a nice Zeagle branded Apex regulator 50D comes to mind... Fast forward 15+ years and Im back in the water :) and the wife is also taking some classes... Been diving on some borrowed gear and last dive was on my recently services Apex... WOW I love that reg glad...
LOL DevonDivrer ....
Yeah valid point but that will soon be changing for me, Its something I have wanted to do but didn't have the time or $$ to do it properly until recently... Kid is moved out, job is stable, cars are paid for even going to Mexico in a few weeks.
So back on topic.
I think what people are missing is the OP wants to spend his money wisely. AKA doesn't want a 5 step process to get to the correct dive computer. When you look at all the options "computers" out there, the big features are what is seen AI, Color, Backlit, Nitrox, tri, ETC. So getting advice...
