I am wondering if anyone knows of a device that allows you to essentially "tie off" to a mooring line / float ball? The reason is - if the current is strong, its darn hard to hold on while flapping in the water. I experienced some strong current this past weekend down in Boynton Beach - and...

Well this just plain sucks....
Of course, why worry, right? This isn't going to impact the DIVE industry? :shakehead
Actually I found a place in Sanford called Fun2Dive that does hyrdos in his shop! And he charges $14 for a hydro, or $26 for a hydro / vip / fill - for NITROX! I plan on dropping my tank of there this weekend or something.
I found the DOT list from the other thread:
http://hazmat.dot.gov/sp_app/approvals/hydro/cyl_fl.pdf
However, I see that there are a lot of facilities that can test tanks (I see a lot of propane and gas places listed). What place have a lot of you used in the orlando area that charges a...
You guys think that's bad - you should see what Miami is doing to Florida's aquifer.
They are injecting partially treated (basically raw) sewage into the aquifer through a process called "deep well injection."

See the PDF file for...
WOW - the first few photos are amazing. I knew that cities discharge sewage into the ocean, but wow. I wouldn't want to be those divers!
How sad. I see our planet transforming faster than we can fix it. Its a shame, but I believe all of this will be gone in 50 years, if not sooner.

It appears all of our CO2 emmissions are causing the ocean to acidify....just lovely! :(
Shot this on Sunday at a Boynton Beach dive (in FL) - I couldn't believe how many trumpet fish were here! It appears to be a nursery! I know the quality isn't that good - my photography skills during drift dives aren't the best - working on that!
Enjoy...
Sorry
I attached the wrong link - the correct link is supposed to be:

If you take the time to actually read this site (I know, reading is hard! ;) ) Maybe you'll understand what is happening in the world.
Actually, just like Ethanol, Nuclear is a net energy loser since it requires numerous fossil fuels in the supply chain to produce it (mining, processing, etc). So no - nuclear won't help.
Actually - that's the concern. There *IS* no alternative that has the energy density that oil has. Additionally, oil is entrenched so much into our daily lives (moreso than most people don't realize), that once peak oil hits - the world economy will tank. We're talking about a post...
OK - lets use some logic here mr wizard.
Let's think about global population for a moment. In case you can't remember back to the days of the abacus and your high school algebra classes - the population of the earth is an exponental function. That is - as time goes on, population doesn't...
That's fine - keep living in a fantasy land. Peak oil production is a fact - just ask the oil companies. In fact, its one of the reasons we import so much freakin' oil as we do.
Technology changes every year - drilling techniques, as well as new equipment allow us to reach the oil that we...
Yeah - this was on page 1 of the lifestyle section of USA Today.
I think its simply amazing that people who say they love to dive are the first ones that don't want to give up their lavish lifestyles when it threatens the sport as a whole.
