Jbomb, we sound a lot alike. My wife likes to hunt, but I have yet to talk her into trying to dive. She's not a fan of deep water. Lol

Congratulations on your certification! I wish my wife would get hers, but so far I've not been able to talk her into it.

Thought I would check here to see if anyone had a USB cable for a suunto D4i before I break down and buy one.
Thanks

I guess it would be both practice and training. Better Buoyancy control would come with more practice since I understand the concept. Getting my trim right would need the help of a good instructor plus practice. I learn better by seeing and doing rather than just reading. I understand the...
Being OW certified less than a week, I am thoroughly enjoying this thread. I have been replaying my dives in my head and know that I am nowhere near being a competent diver. To me, the OW class was kinda like putting training wheels on a bike. Although you can ride it, you need more instruction...
Thanks y'all! I'm ready to get back underwater. The visibility was only 15 foot toward the surface but down at 55 we had 25 foot. It was still a great time.
I made a comment on another thread about almost panicking, hut due to this board I calmed myself and didn't panic. I would like to take this time to thank everyone that shares their experiences and experience to the new divers. I have read a ton of information on this board and it has helped my...
I was glad I was following this thread. I had my first 2 OW dives yesterday, and on the second I got choked. For a split second I almost bolted, but before I could I remembered this thread. I calmed myself and coughed a bit and was fine. So glad I didn't bolt. Now I'm setting at the lake getting...
Check out ultraprox cameras. Its a nice camera just like the gopros but only about $75. I bought one and its rated to 200 ft. It takes nice pictures and video above water going to find out Monday how it does underwater.
Is there anything anyone can tell me about these cylinders?
I'm guessing they are AL80 and an AL40. I'm new to diving so really don't know much else. The last visual and hydro were in 2011. These were given to me over the weekend.
I know this is an old thread, but I'm almost finished with my certification and looking to meet some new folks. None of my friends dive. it would be nice to get to know some other Arkansas divers so that I could possible get more diving in other than just through training. I live in north east...
Congratulations of finishing your class. It sucks you got choked, but it'll be a constant reminder of what not to do when your regulator leaves your mouth. As long as you learn from the mistake your on the right path. I'm still waiting on my open water dives. I work weekends but my dive shop has...
Congrats! I just finished my confined dives and now waiting on the OW dives. I also had a problem with my mask pushing against my head right between my eyebrows. My dive shop let me trade it for a different model and the second fit great with no touching.
We are doing the OW dives at a local lake about an hour from here. I haven't asked about getting back in the pool but that is a great idea. Would be good to refresh my memory and have a little more practice before going to the lake.
