NDAC - National Diving Activity Centre - permanently closed

Are you thinking of Wastwater, Wibble? I've dived there a few times. Theres not a huge amount to see, but vis can be good and there's a wall that drops to 60-70m that is worth doing. I did the deep dives of MOD1 there. It's not easy to get to, parking is limited and its cold but the location is...

NDAC - National Diving Activity Centre - permanently closed

The club I'm in is 2 hours drive away. I don't get to many social events, but I'm on most of the dive trips. Enjoy Lanzarote. Not been for a few years, but I've enjoyed it the couple of times I've been.

NDAC - National Diving Activity Centre - permanently closed

Wibs, for dotty you need to be a member of BSAC and North Wales Technical Divers. https://www.nwtd.co.uk/ Members can take a guest, so let me know if you fancy a trip. You wont complain about the car park at Stoney after you experience "heart attack hill"!

NDAC - National Diving Activity Centre - permanently closed

Ignore my comments about Stoney Cove. I've just read they will stop restricting numbers in march and start charging the extra £10 for a space in the bottom car park as they used to. Cant wait for the weather to improve. I've had two weekends in Scotland blown out in the last month.

NDAC - National Diving Activity Centre - permanently closed

It is a shame about NDAC, I also heard it was turned over to the MOD. Just a point about Stoney. Now its pre-book only, they only sell enough tickets to fill the main car park so the trek from the overflow isn't an issue any more. The vis is still hit and miss, although when I was last there...

Dry suit which to go for

Go to Otter and talk to them about your needs. Their customer service is superb and they will advise you on your best options. Well worth the trip from Manchester to Bradford. It's about the same distance for me from Sheffield. I have an Otter Brittanic mk2 and it's been bomb proof. I bought it...

    National Geographic - The Rescue

John Volanthens book is also an excellent read. It's called "13 lessons that saved 13 lives". It has a different approach to Rick Stantons book, but is equally fascinating.

At what age did you switch to the rebreather? (From OC)

    51. I did MOD1 in August this year. I was previously AN & helitrox. I was planning to do OC normoxic trimix before going CCR, but dropped on an AP unit for a bargain price. I'm very pleased I did because I'm loving it so far.

    Hello From Sheffield UK

Yes, mainly out of Scarborough, but brid and whitby on occasion too.. The club has a Rhib and a hard boat. The season is fairly short on that stretch of coast as the vis gets really messed up by the weather, usually late may to September. The rhib goes up to scotland for the winter and we keep...

    Hello From Sheffield UK

I've know of dream divers, but haven't dives with the. I've been diving on and off since the mid 90s, although only regularly for the last 6 years or so. I did a bit of diving with diveworld, but am now in a BSAC club in Scarborough. Good luck with the OW. Give me a shout if you need a buddy...
