Randy,
I apologize for stepping in on your thread, but as one of the "apples" you are comparing to, the claims regarding lightweight materials and efficiency were misleading.
Also in poor taste are "Liking" and "Thanking" of your own promotional posts by yourself and sons, who are also part of...
Some of the cave divers down in Florida got silt trapped in the pocket behind the trigger and didn't know how to clear it, so I changed the handle design to avoid that. The new trigger is open on the bottom, has plenty of clearance for sand and silt to get out and is a bypass design to sweep...
No, those speeds are most likely without a diver behind it.
The little plastic scooter on that list that stands out is the one that supposedly goes 4.35mph, which is 383 ft/min. Not even our Genesis SW, with over 110lbs of thrust, could tow a free diver that fast. Having been pulled around...
Thanks, although I'm likely not going to make the show due to a couple special projects with deadlines. I even passed on a paid trip to South Africa to help with a shark week film shoot. A provisional patent was filed a few months ago.
There's no stopwatch, only a run timer. I went with...
The beta test units are already spoken for. The first small production run will be offered to Genesis owners, and if any remain they will be available for other scooters once we confirm that they are compatible with each scooter.
We are in the process of testing it on other scooters.
You'll need to wait a few month both for scooter and Dashboard. In addition to this development, I have a couple custom projects for reversible scooters for thrusters on two different subs.
No plans for an integrated compass, since I'm...
In response to a couple recent forum threads, we are releasing the first pictures of the Sentry DPV Dashboard. The first ever power management computer display for DPVs.
The Sentry DPV Dashboard uses a wireless transmitter inside the scooter to send battery and power information to an OLED...
If you are looking at the top speed/max thrust of scooters to make your decision, you need to realize that it is the least efficient speed/power level to run at. They are essentially no different that a car in that regard, while a car may be able to go 100mph, the gas mileage is going to suck...
No, the torque generated by a DPV is basically related to thrust and propeller efficiency. The faster you go or the less efficient your propeller is, the more torque you will experience.
No, light scooters are more susceptible to minor directional control inputs than heavier scooters simply...
Yes, the tails are the same between the 600, 1200 and 1500. To change between them, you can get the different length bodies and larger batteries. However, the 1200 batteries are not simply two sets of 600 batteries.
Cheers,
Jon
To simplify what Tobin said...
In a scooter at normal cruise power, the 25Ah LiFe will yield similar runtimes to a 40Ah SLA, because you will not actually get 40Ah out of the SLA battery at higher current loads.
The electro-chemical conversion efficiency of SLA decreases significantly as the...
Not exactly true. There is a special exemption that allows up to two 300Wh batteries, even with the new regulations. It is up to the individual airlines as to whether or not they will accept them and we are in the process of working with USDOT and various airlines for approval. We will post...
I'll make you a deal Ken, I'll stop your prop with my hand if you TRY to stop my prop with your hand.
Just so you know, I dive a Genesis SW that requires about 4 time the torque as a standard clutch, to slip the mag coupling.
...and let me get the camera first. Deal?
As for providing...
I know that some scooters can be stopped with a hand on the BACK of the prop, but as a manufacturer in the sue happy US, I can't recommend that. Many of the older scooters that use a clutch only have about 0.25HP to 0.35HP and use blades that snap off at the hub. The Genesis is 1.25HP and...
It really depends on the scooter, but I don't recommend sticking your hand in any rotating prop. If a blade were to break before it stopped, you now have a spinning jagged edge contacting you hand.
To stop a spinning prop, I recommend feeding something into the inlet that will stop the prop...
Both the large and small swivel mounts are available. We just added a larger quick release for full size DSLR and video housings that is not in the video below. Email or PM me for prices.
