    DAAM, it happened again...

You were warned. :) Do you know about the LP seat holders being staked? If it has not been rebuilt from the factory, the LP seat holder nut may be staked on, It can break if you are not careful removing it. Some dive shops did this too. I can give you some tips on removing it if it is.

Where can I find this HP hose?

the hose looks like a standard hose....you need a rebuild kit (orings) for the adapter (the piece you have removed in the last photo) although if you figure out what the orings are you can buy 100 of each for what the kit will cost. Also, the spool pulls out of the hose, another oriing there

Siebe Gorman Mistral and Scubapro Pilot

That's a 70-72 model, internally, it's the same as all other RAM's. The band clamp was an option, not standard equipment on any model. as was the banjo. If you plan to restore it, I make service tools for the DAAM/RAM.

Siebe Gorman Mistral and Scubapro Pilot

I have not had one in my hands but I did find some info on them. The basic design is the same as the USD and La Spiro Mistrals but there is no telling if the basic parts like the HP seat or diaphragm will fit. Bryan at VDH may be able to help you there. According to the manual, as I suspected...

    Conshelf 21s vs Conshelf SE2

The cold water kit may or may not have fluid under it. The old ones did, but the later ones used a plastic piston instead of the fluid. In any case unless you dive cold water, it is optional It looks better with a standard Conshelf cap but you can just remove the second diaphragm and...

Do Dacor regulators have *any* value in 2021?

SL-1, thats the one I forgot! I also worked on 1A1s, 1A2s Rohm, and Harris

Do Dacor regulators have *any* value in 2021?

The short answer is not much and even that has a big "depends" with it. I have no issues diving 50 yo gear (I often do) as long as it has been serviced. Dacor was bad for using odd ball parts that you just can't find an alternative part unlike USD or Scubapro. They have plenty of OEM and...

    US Divers/Aqualung Jet Air

Addictive aren't they? :) Nice looking Jetair. I know they are not correct for the reg but if you find the straight mouthpieces a little uncomfortable (I find them too big) the repro Voit hourglass mouthpieces that the Scuba Museum sells are much more comfortable IMO. I use them on any DH reg...

    WTB an argonaut kraken

To quote Yota " Oh You will be" :) I rather enjoy the odd looks I get and expect a lot of questions. On the hose clearing, there is a 3rd alternative . Turn with the left (exhaust ) hose down then grab either hose with both hands a few inches apart. I prefer the supply hose. Compress and...

    WTB an argonaut kraken

Welcome to the club. If this is your first DH reg, please ask questions, either here or on VDH. They dive a little differently than a single hose reg but many of us prefer them to a single hose reg.

    Storing Double hose regulators?

I just pack it in my carry on with cloths around it as padding. I remove all the hoses to prevent any crimping of the hoses....wall actually, I don't install the hoses since I store them without hoses installed.

    Wanted US Diver Jet Air

They are easier to find and a lot less expensive most of the time.

    Wanted US Diver Jet Air

They are neat but if you can't find one and you have a Mistral, you can move the internal parts from it into a set of Rob's Faux Voit 50 Fathom cans and have basically the same reg. You don't damage or modify anything so moving them back is not a problem. Personally, I like the original blue...

    DA Aquamaster Help

Here is how I set one up. First, you must start with a low tank, 300-500 psi. This is because unbalanced diaphragm regs INCREASE IP as tank pressure drops, counter intuitive but true. If you start with a full tank and set the second stage it will free flow a little at low tank pressures...

    DA Aquamaster Help

The DA/RAM can be assembled in most any order but I do have a preference. I first assemble the HP stage setting it aside, then install the HP diaphragm, spring, spring pad and adjustment screw (just barely in a turn or 2). I hold the HP nozzle upside down, install the pin, pinpad and gasket...

    DAAM Label Question.

IMO there is no way to know for sure. Rumor is USD was bad about using up old parts so I guess it's possible a box of old labels were found and used. In any case, the reg itself was made after 64 since it's shiny chrome.
