Where did you solo dive today?

Yep. Good buoyancy here too.. and yet, I will carry a muck stick. Great for finding nudis.

Question Florida folks: What's your cold threshold?

81 first dive today in the keys. I got chilled so added my sharkskin vest to the 1mm zippered jacket for the second dive. Slightly warmer at 82. Time to dust off the 3mm.

    Carrying a pointer stick

Locally we call them muck sticks. There is a very popular dive site where they are used extensively by divers where the bottom is fragile. I use mine as an aid when setting up a shot with my camera, or as a device to gently look at hydroids. Yes it is much less intrusive than a gloved hand! It...

How long before it's all really dialed in?

oof.. You hit a lot of red flags there! And that's for another thread. Some women are so tired of being told how to do something, that the man/husband/boyfriend mansplaining yet another thing automatically triggers the ignore button. I am genuinely happy for you that you are able to articulate...

How long before it's all really dialed in?

My standard rule of knowledge for diving is at 50 dives you are starting to get a clue. At 100 you realize at 50 you were still clueless.

    Hurricane MIlton

Nice over here. Hoping to get a beach dive in on Sunday, it should be settled down by then. Storm was pretty dry and the wind was just enough to enjoy being outside last night relaxing in a chair.

    Hurricane MIlton

I'm well south of the storm and am hoping all the forecasts are correct that that stationary front does lift out and pull Milton north. Still, put up shutters on the west side, gassed up the car, etc... Rum. Rum. Rum

True.. It did clear up pretty good after Helene, but different system, different path. May try tomorrow if its still flat early on... But I also realize I may be pushing the envelope.. its a wait n see.

    Big Weather change just now.

Thinking of ya'll.. it was supposed to stay off shore more and not get this intense till tomorrow. Proof that hurricanes don't listen to meteorologists. Hopefully it passes quickly and dies in intensity.

    Buoyancy during inhalation

Dive shallow. Super shallow. It will force you to learn how to control your breath. I dive Blue Heron Bridge and there are lots of photogs there that have learned how to handle the camera while remaining neutrally buoyant and controlling that rise and fall in shallow depths- often less than 10ft.

Can I brag for just one minute? I KNOW it's not Palm Beach.. but it is beach.. LOL. I have only ever limited twice in my life before this year, always off the beach. This year I have limited three times, twice this week! The lobsters on Wednesday night were everywhere! My buddy and I limited in...

Will be looking for the BHB vis reports. Pretty much if vis is blown out there, it's also blown out oceanside.
