Interesting. I've been diving BHB for 20 years and never heard it called that. Probably accurate though, I've never been to Lembeh.

couple of us are on the afternoon trip with silent world on Saturday. Did it last year with an outfit in Big Pine Key last year. Will not dive with them again. Treated us like just certified noobs. I get there are alot of noobs that dive the keys, however, if you have experienced divers, give...

Question Where did you dive today and how was it?

I solo dived Yellow Brick Road off Hollywood Beach, FL. Water was a hazy blue 30 ft vis and a temp of 74. Even with a 5mm and hood, I got chilled. Max depth 22 ft, came back with lots of air after a 2:20 minute bottom time.

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls III

welcome back! The first two nudis seem very common right now. Someone tossed a bunch of shells Ober the fishing bridge, as pictured of the hermit crab. There may be some on the east side also. Oops, looking at the second nudi... Maybe not. The one I'm seeing looks like a fluffy bean. Guess I...

Patience... That's an understatement! Those little buggers are a challenge. One thing I've learned... If you can turn the flash off...shoot in low sequence..

I went west today. Again. At times loads of other divers, and other times solo. Got to spend uninterrupted minutes with a very pretty seahorse.

Where did you solo dive today?

I was at Blue Heron Bridge today. Nice to solo after the past couple days of having buddies and the hunt for dwarf froggies. Did find 5, and a sea horse, and lots of octopuses. Water still chilly at 74°. Brrr

    Coolest/Most Unique "Finds" While Diving?

there's a bit of that here in S. Florida with cultures from the Caribbean. I had no idea what it was when I found it. I did leave where found except for the dollar bill. Someone else finished unwrapping it when I visited that spot a couple days later

    Coolest/Most Unique "Finds" While Diving?

I was at Blue Heron Bridge and found this paper roll. Like butcher paper, rolled up to about the size of a rolled up t shirt. I started unrolling it, and a dollar bill floated out.. Before I could grab my camera and take a photo, a chicken head floats past! Continue unrolling and there were...

Question Storing Dive Gear in SE Florida

I keep mine inside, hanging up with space to dry. Depending on the time of year, I may rinse it in the shower, then let it mostly dry, then move it to another location. Summertime, gear gets rinsed outside, hung in the shade, and brought inside at night to finish drying. BTW, OdoBan is an...

    Another One Gone

Capt. Tony ran a tight ship. While I'm happy for his retirement, he was my go to when people asked for a good dive boat in the area.

    Fighting for Florida

those toxic chemicals travel south through the everglades into Florida Bay, and out to the reefs, causing corals to die, and and Florida Bay to have algae blooms.. The whole agriculture industry should be cut way back. But that ain't gonna happen any time soon. They are too strong and have...
