Recommendation for a scuba oxygen analyzer

Oxy cheq for me. They cost a ~$100. Unfortunately, for me, sensors rarely last 1 year and almost never 2, so I always keep a spare. I test and mix a lot of gas, though. Easy as pie to use on a charter if you buy a BC flow restrictor. Just hook up your regulator, and plug into the bc connector...

Are there formulas for Blending Nitrox and how to achieve a certain percentages?

While you can certainly set up "Have, Needs, Wants" tables, the easiest way to do it is with a decent deco program. MultiDeco, for example, has a Nitrox and Topup program associated with it. This is one of those subjects where a class, by someone who has done it, really has value. Transfil...

    Sexism?

Pretty sure I understood you, and your explanation makes it seem even more likely. I just found it funny that you questioned her intentions as somewhat leading by using the word "still", but that you acknowledged that it (sexism), likely, still exists, since it seems to exist in other aspects of...

    Sexism?

Oh wait, this is just to good. You acknowledge Sexism exists in general society, and since it does it is ok for it to exist in diving, and therefore not an issue at all? :rofl3:

    VIP on tanks?

Nah, not a standard, and it depends on your PSI instructor as to the recommendation. Most say annually, or semiannually if part of a rental fleet, even more often if commercial or boat fills. Don't worry about paperwork. The vast majority of shops aren't litigiously aware enough to even keep...

Anyone using the latest ver. of MultiDeco on a mobile phone ?

Been using it on my iPad for several months now. No longer open vplanner. While a DecoPlanner biggot now for years with no option for phones and tablets, I am moving more and more to Multideco. With it, my computer, my iPad and my thigh pocket tables are all in synch!!!

    Hog D2 replacement parts

While you can use other DIN Adapters, your rebuild kits an filters are likely not to be compatible with the replacement parts in your rebuild kit going forward. The parts, from Hog, are: B-01-002-03-BK DIN Wheel C-01-002-14 DIN Housing C-01-002-15-PT DIN...

Why have CO analyzers been removed from the market

BTW, if you ever have an issue getting your Sensorcon to calibrate, you can send it over here. I calibrate, at 50ppm, then verify at both 50 and 25ppm and am coming up with +-2ppm at a flow rate of .5lpm, $35 and I ship back.

Sensorcon CO analyzer without using the scuba adapter kit?

BTW, if you ever have an issue getting your Sensorcon to calibrate, you can send it over here. I calibrate, at 50ppm, then verify at both 50 and 25ppm and am coming up with +-2ppm at a flow rate of .5lpm, $35 and I ship back.

How do companies sell their gear to stores?

You'll notice the answers are all over the board as far as what is a rule and what might be. So much of it has to do with region, anticipated sales, and your local competition. If a shop has no competition and a desirable location, a manufacturer might place $5000 worth of stock on consignment...

    Hose mount vs retractable compass

Not so much that you don't but when do you ? I dive 30-50 wrecks a year. Don't use them there (all metal wrecks). Caves- nah, don't need them there. Classes in Navigation, sure. Ocean Shoreline, sometimes if there isn't a lot of recognizable structure, but normally not. Meg teeth hunts? Nah...

Being pushed into buying gear - Is this normal?

Gross would have been $180000, only the material were listed as cost. There is absolutely no mention of rental income because, in this example, I didn't earn any, but a wise investor would reinvest back some back into his business, thus the purchase. Same with the increase in inventory, it may...

Yep, Hunting of any kind is out the window as well! LOL

Being pushed into buying gear - Is this normal?

Yes, but that is an opinion, nothing deceptive about it. Who says "let the buyer beware" applies to everything but Scuba? Clearly you had concerns, so you asked the question. The answer has been, hey, it's there shop, there policies. If you don't want to buy, in the face of their advice, then...

Being pushed into buying gear - Is this normal?

Hmm, you may want to go read the first post, once again. There is not a single thing in that post that is misleading or deceptive. The LDS is providing a view, espoused as their own (even though pretty much industry wide) as to why one should purchase mask fins and snorkels. The funny thing...

Being pushed into buying gear - Is this normal?

I would agree, except that, with those additional services come additional costs. travel, for example, used to be quite profitable, however, in the past 10 years, with every offering being available on the internet as well, travel value prop has diminished. In most cases, it has become a means...

    Hose mount vs retractable compass

I'm (almost) agree with TBone. I like the larger slate size. If I actually need a compass, I need the notes with it. The only difference is I would use a liquid filled sailing compass due to its greater operational angle. Military figured that out on nav boards years ago. The forgotten...

Being pushed into buying gear - Is this normal?

Love be it when people use math. Ok, so let's use your number, and on top of that, a 50% margin. For easy math, I'll say the class is 100% profit that's ~$210 in product and 800 in training. Net new OW certifications here in Raleigh, let's be crazy and say 150, $150000 in training revenue...
