The Difference Between LP and HP

He did mention that they used to make them in the US, but only in Europe now. It would be so much easier if we could get rid of DOT and CGA, then work on some kind of worldwide standard, but you and I can guess at that likelihood!!! Max Speed, there are also publicly available documents on how...

The Difference Between LP and HP

I never said match the tank pressure, only the specification provided by DOT. ;-) I believe the actual specification merely states "Not to exceed the rated test pressure", but I am sure someone will look up the actual law and provide it here. Sherwood, for example, provides DoT...

New dive computer for Divemaster internship

As stated, I would direct your questions and research through DAN or others that track accidents. My own experience has found utilization and familiarity to be the greatest Failure. "B" an experienced Male Dive Pro here in NC, had an incident even though well within the parameters of his...

The Difference Between LP and HP

Tom, I think what KWinter is saying is, just because you might know it to be true, does not mean it is in the best interest of all to share. First off, while once "extremely common", much of that has changed with the availability of HP tanks. Secondly, while common in some areas, I would doubt...

New dive computer for Divemaster internship

A little research with DAN and other organizations that track incidents might sway you away from less expensive computers. The reason is that less expensive computers lack the cpu power an memory to process multiple compartments in a timely manner. What they do instead is calculate 3 or 4...

New Drysuit manual from SDI coming.

And once again, you missed the entire point. It is an SDI course, not TDI. There is nothing technical about it. But hey, I'll play along. You're a TDI guy, why don't you show me any place in approved training material where it tells you what hand to hold the light, or where to mount your...

    Don and Doff Gear underwater

Hey Tom, Another point of view on what I agree is a BS skill. Back in 1982, when I learned the skill through NAUI as part of OWSD, we did it black mask as well and were told that this was the pass or fail test that determined we could go on the open water section. Years later, I asked my...

New Drysuit manual from SDI coming.

Gotta Say Omission, seems to be showing a limited view in tech and Diving in general Regarding your points A - I would love to introduce you to a whole group of vets and handicapped persons that have altered drysuits and other dive equipment to meet their needs B - Of course, this assumes you...

    1) they need to know and be able to plan decompression " Simply put the techreational diver will often be going deeper, longer, or further than the basic recreational dive. With range, simple decompression obligations and overhead environments will become a dive planning consideration. With...

    Odorless hose for compressor intake

I use this- McMaster-Carr I understand they ship to Mexico, so it should not be an issue to obtain it. I would match the hose to your intake opening, since any wider will have to go through the same restriction anyhow.

Diver image. Do you even think about it?

I follow the same line of thought as a Rat Rodder. Not a big believer in the concept that money buys skill.
