    Cave conservation

Sounds like those morons would be damaging cave whether they be backmount or sidemount...I think they'd just be digging out smaller passages in sidemount gear, rather than bigger passages in backmount gear. People who have such a lack of respect for the caves, that they'd deface it just to get...

    PADI/DSAT Trimix 65...qualifying crossover certs?

Hi! There's an instructor I'm very interested in taking the PADI/DSAT "Tech 65" course from...unfortunately, all my prior certs are TDI/SDI. Does anyone know what TDI equivalent is needed to qualify to take the "Tech 65" course? I've taken TDI's "Advanced Nitrox/Deco Procedures", but not...

What do you think of the Halcyon Infinity BC?

Not to split hairs, but what did you mean when you said, "I would suggest buying the 60lb Evolve wing, great for doubles, but can also be used for singles. Flops about a bit but still works great."? ?

What do you think of the Halcyon Infinity BC?

so, you are recommending that a 60 lb wing can be used with a single cylinder? Maybe I misunderstand... That would result in a wing taco from hell and it would be a nightmare to vent...

Question about deco stops when diving with air.

impulse, why are you so worried about accidental decompression dives? Sure, it can happen if you aren't paying attention and wind up overstaying your welcome. But, as long as you're paying attention to your depth/time and your dive computer, decompression just won't sneak up on you and bite...

    Drowning victim resuscitated- video

Interesting, to say the least. I guess they were trying to force the water from her lungs? I'm amazed she regained consciousness. I don't think lay people are required to check for a pulse, anymore, but I'm not sure.

    Air2 or Octo?

Real divers just breathe straight from the tank valve! :) (just joking, of course)

    Dan

I've always been pretty happy with DAN...they've been really great about being available for advice. I've got the middle plan (can't recall what it's name was). The standard plan only covered accidents that happened above 130 feet, and the coverage amounts were smaller than the other two...

I'm inclined to stick up for my friends and dive buddies, when people are saying nasty things about them.... If you don't like the direction this forum is going in, please feel free to contribute more than your two posts since joining this forum in January.

I think the springs in those areas tend to have a consistent water temp of around 68 degrees F

It's a freshwater spring in Florida...it's an inland dive site. Basically, it's an underground cave that discharges fresh water into a shallow depression. The depression, called a "basin" has an average depth of 20 feet, but down by the cave opening, I think it's closer to 50. The cave itself...
