you did the right thing. that connection with an international flight would have been very stressful. I've flown over 100K miles this year with american and I try my best to ensure at least a 1hr layover. If there is any delay you are stuck. DFW and Chicago are both equally as bad.
yeah, this weekend was kind of a bummer diving wise. lots of stuff happening to equipment, delays, --I lost my buddies twice--found them both times, and not so great conditions. plus my camera started getting weird on me.
We did ecologic as well and they were great! you can also hire them to do an entire day with a beach picnic and mix dives/snorkels. It was great to get a day with one of the boats to ourselves.
it was great meeting all of you and putting names to faces. We could have done a nice series of lessons on how to surf enter and exit on Sat. I ended up on my rear end on the entry and thought it better to exit via the stairs by lovers #1 instead of trying to time waves and end up on the...
i have both. I routinely use aperture for managing my photos and have some workflows to do some color adjustments based on my standard dive locations. try using the eye dropper in the white balance area. also I like to toggle the view (using the 'v' key) so that I see only the image I am...
hey mike are you going to be staying down at monterey this weekend? If you are going to be at the meet & greet we need to coordinate our meetup time at lobos on sunday.
you have the same setup that I recently upgraded to. The ergonomics on the sea and sea housing seem to make a lot more sense to me than the other housings. The knobs are placed in the right location and its easy to use even with big blue smurf gloves on the drysuit.
you should check out the...
heh, you guys are talking about a couple of bucks difference btwn air and nitrox, but in my case it a small delta compared to the junk food pizza eating that takes place after the dives!
I think nitrox makes gianni's pizza taste better.
thanks for elaborating on my cryptic message. i replied after an 18hour day and was nearly passed out when i posted. :D
You should definitely take the class. I took the padi class and the EAN book is probably one of the best written padi manuals -in my opinion.
I also dive nitrox now almost exclusively. On boat dives I'll usually pack 32 & 36 for the deep and then not-so-deep 2nd dive. On shore dives or on days when i'm not sure about the depth i'll bring two 32% tanks. The only problem is on some dives the 32 can get you close to your MOD of 111...
Yeah the camera body is always the least expensive component of a fully outfitted camera kit. Lenses, strobes, housings and ports all add up very quickly.
What is surprising to me though is the cost of the strobe arms. Those things are crazy expensive for what they are made of -and they...
