    Twin Tanks

Yes, I have the tall ones (2 x 12.2L Fabers). Unfortunately, I'm a real air pig. So I've been looking at tank options. hmm, unless my math is wrong, a 15L should hold approx 500 more litres of gas. At my 'normal' usage, that should get me an extra 5 minutes on an average dive.

    Oceanic OC1 vs. Suunto D9

I've put about 15 dives on my OC1 LE. No issues so far, still looks like new. Depth and air measurements match my analog gauges reasonably closely. The screen protector works well, tho it is odd. seems to be a sticky on top of a static cling? Anyway, I didn't quite centre it right and the...

Townsville: Great Barrier Reef vs. Yongala

I've just returned from a week in Alva Beach (Yongala Dive lodge). Unfortunately I did not get to dive due to poor weather. There's not much there, so the wait was rather boring. Hopefully the weather is nicer next time I go.

    Trim, Buoyancy and Arm Position

being a fairly new diver (in drysuit), I still struggle with buoyancy and trim. My biggest issue seems to be the weight of my steel tank (12L Faber). If i'm not careful, I'll get flipped over and then my feet start heading for the sky. So, while I try to maintain good trim with my arms in...

How long is your longest dive?

i only carry 12lb when diving wet (in a 7/5 semi-dry) and 18lb when dry. my LDS is gonna lend me a 15L tank and i am working on my fitness, so together i might get a limttle more time :D

Mythbuster testing "James Bond Tux in a Drysuit" myth...

    decent o2 regulators.

You can buy most regs Oxy cleaned for a small fee. Personally I like Zeagle kit. The ZX 50D or ZX DSV would do the job

    Backplate Harness Wing

I have an alloy plate and 35lb wing from Zeagle, and a 100cf (12.2L) Faber. I use Zeagle's Zip Touch integrated weight pockets. when diving dry, I carry 18lb of lead. when wet, i carry 12lb (7/5 suit). Then again, I'm tall and slim (6ft, 166lb). Note that these weightings have been achieved by...
