    Rude Divers on the Boat

One evening on Little Cayman when a friend (who in February 2015 sadly passed away on an LCBR boat) and I were sitting down to dinner at the resort, he asked if I thought that (for a change) we should say a prayer. Almost immediately (I had been terrorized on several dives that day) I said: Lord...

Just got a Zeagle 50D first stage.

Steve, The Zeagle first is a pretty good one. One thing which you should expect, and which is rather annoying to me, is a mushy IP lockup. Having used AL regs for a number of years previously, I was concerned when the IP of a new Zeagle first stage floated about 3-5 PSI after a purge. So...

    Aqualung legend lux free flow

OP, You have gotten very good advice above. Also remember that the Legend Lux second stage has AL's "patented Master Breathing System" in which the venturi effect as well as the breathing resistance are controlled by a single knob. A solution in search of a problem.

    Rude Divers on the Boat

Some people have no (or very little) knowledge about currents. One thing I have learned over the last 40 years is that, in general, the less experience a "diver" has, the more vocal he tends to be.

Video of reef shark circling and bumping a Cayman diver to get at his lionfish catch

Kathy, That was pretty common during the time that DM's on Little Cayman speared Lionfish while leading dives. The sharks becoming rather pushy was the reason that it was discontinued on LC. The sharks soon become conditioned that the "snap" of the spear's band meant food. These days, the LC...

    Tusa First stage failure.

Definitely not unheard of, especially after a fresh service. If the shop you took it to was the one who serviced it and they did a complete rebuild, I am surprised that they did not offer to repair it at no charge.

Cayman Brac in July - what exposure suit level?

During July at the Brac, you can expect water temps in the mid 80's. I wear a 1 mil, which is the same as I use in the Keys at that time. But, I do see some people in 3 mil suits, and some diving in swimsuits.

2015 Already One of the Deadliest Years in Caymanian Waters

The death of anyone who dies near the water is termed a "water related death" by the press. The man who died on an LCBR boat in February was a friend of mine. I have dived with him a number of times. He was not overweight, fairly fit, an experienced diver, and not old (60) by LCBR standards...

Diving in either Cayman Brac or Little Cayman mid March- any hotel or dive operation

---------- Post added February 21st, 2015 at 02:35 PM ---------- Just one correction Large, The Pirates Point boat is moored in the lagoon on the south side of the island near LCBR. Divers are vanned to and from the boat each day. They go out through the same cut in the reef.

    Zeagle regs

Zeagle addressed the binding shuttles early on, and the orifice was changed from plastic to stainless a few years ago. Are the "new" seconds going to incorporate the Atomic seat saver? Also. has there been a cosmetic change so that one can distinguish between the Zeagle Zeagle regs from the...

    Zeagle regs

Now that Zeagle is under the Huish umbrella, do they still produce regulators in the US, or produce regs at all?
