5 Best Dive Sites in Puerto Galera

How is this area? I was at a recent SCUBA exposition and the booths made it look nice but actual video shot there made it look slight on coral growth.

    Andaman And Nicobar Islands

I also heard the same but have wanted to go to these far away islands for a long time. Any Info on Kingfisher or other operators?

    Ocean Rover in Sulawesi

I just returned from a week at KBR and a week on the Ocean Rover - fantastic trip. I don't see the need to dive Lembeh Straits from a liveaboard like (above) was stated, we reached Angel's Window (furthest dive site) quickly.

    Secret Bay, Bali

This is serious muck diving and only started in the last 4-5 years. I'd do it one day and contrast it with the Beautiful wall of Menjagen Island the next day as both are so close to each other.

Recommend dive shop on Koh Tao!

KNY is a FANTASTIC resort - three pinaccles rise out of the water with a sandy stretch between them that you can cross at low tide.

    murex-manado/lembeh resort

Lembeh Straits is a wonderful dive location - lots of variety to see; from muck to coral walls. I was on the Ocean Rover and we passed the Murex liveaboard several times - looked like a VERY nice ship

    Best Phuket Liveaboard

Ocean Rover is the best I've been on - not the cheapest, but the best crew and most professional skiff drivers I've been diving with.

Phuket in July, How is diving?

Weather can be factor, but diving "inside" from Phuket to Koh Lanta is a great recommendation (above). The SImilan and Surin Islands are more exposed and a bit far, but sound like they won't fit into your vacation desires anyhow.

    Bali, non diving

Ubud is nice - you'll find several local villages that have joined together to produce a single item in that village from smelting raw material to final craftsmanship. Ubud is not close to the beach but it is easy to find cheap transportation should you want to go.

    Wakatobi, Woooohooo!

Just relaying the facts. But I don't understand how you can want to stifle these facts as relaying experiences to others on this board is exactly what the SCUBABOARD.com promotes. I'd hate to see others subjected to the same ill treatment we received. When people spend their time and money to...

    Wakatobi, Woooohooo!

I had been on the Ocean Rover to Myanmur (aka Burma) before and did not mention the comforts of this dive ship in above statement. It is fantastic and one of my favorite liveaboards for those who haven't been on it.

    Wakatobi, Woooohooo!

Great trip, a fantastic chance to see a variety of dive sites from hot temperature, volcanic diving to spectacular walls in a drift dive several miles long. While there are many dive resorts from Bunaken to Lembeh Strait in North Sulawesi, the liveaboard diving allows you to head up to the more...

    Wakatobi, Woooohooo!

I agree with you and your numbers seem correct, that KBR is at least $800 cheaper, but I take difference when you say that "KBR is the choice for lower budgets", as this is a complete misnomer, it is first rate and superior to Wakatobi in all ways except for Wakatobi's marketing machine...

    Wakatobi Wannabe

I spent 10 days at Wakatobi for $2860.00USD and Lorenz was hosting a pair of special guests (Swiss and German doctors) which meant 11 divers were assigned to one dive guide for ALL days of diving. Since 9 of the 11 in our group were not photographers they strictly told us that we had to wait...

    Wakatobi, Woooohooo!

Thank you for the response, I respect your opinion, divepix, and you do bring up some good points. The truth is I really did enjoy the first dive every day at Wakatobi on the expansive wall at the fringing reef. In addition KBR did not have the large fish, but they aren't making inflated...
