    Beaver_Lake_Cove

The cove in the middle of the picture is a good place to shore dive. Decent access from the day use area and from the beach if its open. One of the LDSs has a couple boats and other things down there to look at. Cove is protected by no wake buoys but boats will still come in on occasion. The...

    BC for PSD and Rec

Ranger being positive, you mean positively buoyant right? So if I understand this right... A BP/W has better (meaning less) buoyancy than a traditional BC? I'm guessing because of all the webbing and fancy stuff right?

    BC for PSD and Rec

Well, I am finally looking at buying my own set of gear. I want to find something that I can use both for Rec and in the future Tech diving as well as PSD for my employer. Due to budget constraints, we have to provide our own initial gear. A coworker who is an ERD wears a ScubaPro...

    Wearing Tanks Upside Down

I have never seen that, it is certainly interesting. Firefighters cylinders are upside down for several reasons. First, while crawling on the floor of a burning building, you don't have have that valve hanging out there like a grappling hook. Also, that way the rear brim on our helmet doesn't...

    Which certification entity...

I already have a PADI OW cert. There are both PADI and SDI shops within drive distance from me. I am leaning towards SDI/TDI because I know I can get an ERD class there and others from my department have trained there with positive experiences.

    Which certification entity...

Ok, I searched for a topic like this but I could not find it. I would like opinions of and the differences in different certification entities. i.e. PADI vs NAUI, etc. Also, I am interested in the AOW and specialty classes with SDI/TDI since my ERD class will probably be thru them this...

    omg - these are heavy!

How about a rolling luggage carrier of some sort? Or a lightweight two wheel dolly, or shoot iy you have a truck, get a nice big one with off road wheels. As for lifting, look into one of those wheelchair lifts you see in the backs of pickups. That would most certainly work. I can come up...
