Had mine in the water for the first time today. I love it! I actually love the low power setting for use out of water.

C&J is a nice shop close to town, the dam, and Indian Creek. Indian Creek is a nice cove to dive in. Fairly shallow, most is above '40 or so. Lots of stuff to see. They have sank a couple boats, a boat lift, and some other stuff there. You might want to call Extreme Sports Scuba in Joplin...

James, You might check with the dive shops around where you want to go. Ours take a trailer down maybe two weekends a month. Its nice, air fills on the beach, gear repair or loaners if you need it. And no shortage of people to go dive with. TX

I have given in to the demons. Since I dive with a relatively small group and will be venturing into Public Safety Diving this year, I have chosen to go with a set up very similar to others in the group. I do this for familiarity. Its easy for me to relearn my kit, but not easy for everyone...

I have a 2004 Ford Explorer LMT AWD. Five divers and gear makes for 13 MPG on the highway! I wonder if anyone would choose an M35A2?

Welcome to SB. If you ever make your way south, there is a great shop in Joplin called Extreme Sports. Lots of divers down here. Tablerock and Beaver are great lakes to dive in.

Have you tried Beaver Lake? I know there is an LDS there on 183 (right road) right near the damn. Shop I frequent goes there regularly. There is even a New Years Day dive planned

If only leather didn't like water so much. I have a very nice USMC K-Bar. Think that's overkill? We obtained a SP knife with sheath at our last dive, no one knew who's it was, so its ours.

I agree with trigfunctions. Unless you have a reason to be there, whats to see in zero vis?

I bought an Akros last week and dove it last weekend. Worked flawlessly.
