    VillaBlanca

This is too funny. I previously priced airfare and hotels seperately for comparison. Travelocity is higher for VB than I can get a la carte and Hotel Cozumel is 600 more than VB if I buy a la carte . I was also now looking at Casa Del Mar because kids under 12 stay free and that would cut out...

    VillaBlanca

Thanks for the info Kwik. We originally started talking about the trip with Casa Del Mar and decided it was so far away from town. We have priced Hotel Coz but the total cost for a group of 5 non-all inclusive would be over $1000 more than Villa Blanca. For a family on a budget this could make...

    VillaBlanca

The Fiesta certainly looks like a nice place. I am going to run it by the group. Only drawback other than being a long way from town (but closer to reefs) is the cost. The package rate non-inclusive for FA is about $250 more per person per week. One family has 5 so it would cost them $1250 more...

    VillaBlanca

Hey Lou the mold does not really bother me in moderation as I am from Louisiana. Will make sure to bring a can of Lysol to spray in the a/c like we do in Jamaica. We did not have any mold as Scuba Club if I remember. Also Dive Paradise says they have a place at Villa Blanca or at least I thought...

    VillaBlanca

I have a group of 3 families that are planning a trip in June. Some are divers and some are not. There are also some pre-teen and young teenagers in the group. After researching packages and trying to get something to meet everyones requirements we decided for right now that VillaBlanca Gardens...

    Nice, Non-AI, Hotel

CMB have you booked anything yet? We also saw on the Villa Blanca page where they have 2 and 3 bedroom villas and list the rates. I have emailed them for rates on these with a dive package. We have decided to take the kids (including the other 2 groups kids) so we are now looking for a place...

First trip to Cozumel Diving any tips

No converter needed. It is all inclusive even the diving but they charge you for soft drinks and alcohol. Tea, water and juice are free. I think they charge you 50cents US to use the ATM plus what your bank charges (about $2 for me). The atm's we used showed everything in pesos so don't think...

First trip to Cozumel Diving any tips

Here are my tips which you probably have already read on here: 1) At the airport just walk past the salesmen when they ask you what hotel you are going to and go straight to the taxi stand on the right. 2) Once you get to Scuba Club walk North a couple of blocks to the Chedraui and use the...

Cozumel dive resorts: skimp on Bottom times?

OK all this doubt as to what we did so I got out the log book for SCC. These were filled out after each dive day using our computers as a reference: 6/24 Shore Dive 18'max 53min 6/25 Palancar Caves 79' 37min Punta Tunich 71'...

Cozumel dive resorts: skimp on Bottom times?

Second dives are shallower. Correct me if I am wrong but most computers and dive tables are based on the deepest dive being first. PADI teaches always do deepest dive first but I have heard that this rule has been broken. I may have broken if spearfishing but only by 5' or so on dives in the...

Cozumel dive resorts: skimp on Bottom times?

You are correct. We are not Nitrox certified but I do remember from our training it is a deco issue. They were just better divers and got a good 15 min. or more than we did out of their tanks. Not sure if their tanks may have been bigger?? Anyway the dives were called when you or your buddy...

Cozumel dive resorts: skimp on Bottom times?

When we were at Scuba Club in June each buddy team surfaced when the first team member reached the low air point (700 psi) and did a 3 minute safety stop. The teams that had air continued to dive and the boat would pick up each group as they surfaced. Those diving nitrox of course stayed down...

    Cozumel Shore dive

I sent him an email regarding our SCC shore dive. A thought I had was that one of the piers (international?) was at the end of Paradise Reef. While not as good a dive as Palancar, etc. we saw a ton of fish here and had long bottom times. Definitely alot better than diving around SCC. Is it...

    Rooms at Scuba Club Cozumel

We stayed in 77. Its pretty much over the webcam so the view from the cam is the view from the balcony. It had two double or queen beds and a sofa/bed that was softer than the regular beds. Alot of room but had to climb stairs and the tanks woke us up at 6:30 every morning which was a plus for us.

Alltel Hides Their North America Plan

Hey Don, I have Alltel too and I am not cellphone plan literate. I do, however, remember the plan which you are talking about. The link below does have a footnote #2 that references the North American plan International Services - Alltel Wireless If you click on the "calling rates" tab...

Hey Wiild1 we (me, wife, son) think we dove with you and your son. Weren't you on the Observer a couple days and used nitrox. Wife says we dove with you on our last day also. Reef Cat or Star. Dove Santa Rosa Wall then Paradise Reef. I remember us being air hogs and wishing I had nitrox (and...

    Scuba Club Cozumel?

We went at the end of June and had a blast. Already thinking of going back just need the time. We did not need a car as we only went to town one day and walked all the way to the airport runway with no problem. If you are going on a serious dive vacation this is the place. By the time you eat...

    Trip Report SCC June 24-29

We dove with Raymundo the first day. The second day we dove with Ariel, including the wreck dive. The rest of the trip and the night dive we dove with Nestor. He was a hoot and we enjoyed diving with him. He wore two different color fins so that he was easy to spot underwater. He said he...
