Didn't know you could spear fish the "O". Tell me more..

I did stay above the thermocline this trip. If your going deep you might want to take your dry suit. I was at 55' or so a month ago when the surface temp was in the upper 80's and couldn't stay long down there in a 3mil.

My computer says 76 on average with 77 being the highest below surface and 74.5 the lowest. Didn't get the computer below the thermocline long enough to register but it was a noticeable difference. Probably around 10 degrees less.

The spearfishing season is June 15th thru March 15th. I think you can spear rough fish year round but bass, walleye and other game fish must be taken during the season and the limit is 1/2 the normal limit. Here is the link to the game & fish brochure...

We just got back from Casa Del Mar and posted a review a couple of weeks ago. It should be a page or two back on this board. We did not have problems with the walk lugging our gear as we dove with Blue XTSea and they stored and washed our gear daily. We would go back there again.

If you have deep pockets you could pay for 2 more people even if they didn't show. I think 4 is the minimum. May try Living Underwater also.

Oooops I just realized the OP was from '05. Well someone may need the information anyway. Im sure Chuck can give you the water temp as he is from up there. According to Jordan Marina their surface temp on website is 76 with 20' viz. I would think Ouachita would be close or maybe a degree or two...
