    California Diving Co. Dive Box

HepCat, I work in Palo Alto and wouldn't mind picking up your CA Diving Co box. Shoot me a DM with what you're asking for it? Thanks!!

    Ni'ihau still going?

I'm headed to Kauai on Wed and was wondering if the seas were being cooperative and the local dive ops were still doing Niihau trips? I have a reservation with Seasport for 10/1 but haven't heard anything from them.

    Parts list

hmm, weird. ScottZeagle here might be willing to send it to you but if you need it sooner, either Zeagle express or Scuba toys could probably help you out. They've gotten me random part numbers plenty of times, even for obscure zeagle stuff.

Chances of diving Niihau last week in Sept or first in Oct

I'm booked for my trip to Kauai Sept 29th - Oct 9th. While I know that's the tail end of the season, does anyone have any more insight on my chances? I spoke with a person at Fathom Five and at Seasport and they seemed not to have much to say other than "that's near the end of the season"... I...

Best dive op for Niihau in Sept

I see a lot of mention of Seasport but know a lot of other folks offer trips to Niihau as well. We're used to diving cold/deep Monterey waters and although I don't expect to see a lot of newbies on a Niihau trip, would prefer an op that caters more toward experienced divers as we'll likely use...

    Tipping diving instructors

I learned my instructor liked scotch from talking to him after class. So, my tip was an 18yo bottle. I think it helps to make it personal. While no one will turn down cash, if you know your instructor well you might try for something more "gift-like".

    Any info on new Taurus?

Absolutely love it. Use it in mid-40s (down to 5deg C so far) and it's been great! I haven't gotten cold yet and always come up dry save for a few inches around each seal (neck, wrists, ankles).

    Spyderco Caspian Salt mini-review

Sorry for the delay. So far I haven't had any problems with the fingerhole wearing gloves. I use 5mm semidry gloves and there is adequate room. I'm a size 11 ring so not huge fingers but not small either.

No diving at Paya Bay (mini trip report)

LOL, so many opinions. And really you're all right. I came back from Roatan only to leave on a business trip so I'm just now getting settled at home and catching up on SB. Was I complaining? Sure. Was the intent to inform others of my experience and spread knowledge/opinion about a little...

No diving at Paya Bay (mini trip report)

Spent a few days to start my trip at Paya Bay. Despite telling me they had their own dive op I found they had an empty shack and a well worn boat in dry dock. :shakehead: I tried to dive with their former partner op Tropica Island Divers and no luck their either. No one answered the phone and no...

    Countdown to Leviathan...

Sad to see this going down such as it is. Agreed that is Leviathan is a new company they should have taken nothing from the former salvo business. Non-tangible IP is a grey area but taking any goods was just asking to get hassled by the courts.

Do I have to fight ???

I dive a 7mm semi dry (PITA back shoulder drysuit zipper and seals at all the openings). It fits like it's painted on but it is a little trouble to get on. I'm 5'11", 210# but only a 34" waist. I got a Large by WaterProof's (swedish company's) sizing but I fit well into a L pinnacle as well (s...
