    Love my heated vest!

Claudia is a real tech diver. No doubt about it. But she also is connected with Add Helium, which sells the Thermalution stuff. Now do they sell it because it's good and that's why she uses it? Or does she promote it because they sell it? I'm not even going to consider that quandary. I will...

    Love my heated vest!

My question would be what advantage this one provides over others that don't have the controller and/or battery pack inside the suit. Like Peter said, it is probably just a matter of time. I have 2 different heated garments, and both use external battery. I have every confidence that if they...

    CDW insurance

I carry a copy of the proof of insurance. Fortunately I've never had to use it. If I had to pay for the car on the spot, I'm sure I would get reimbursed. But it's a good question whether they would wire the money without proof of loss or seeing the damage. More likely they would provide a...

    CDW insurance

My American Express card has a program I'm registered in through a third party insurer. Any time I rent a car using my Amex card, I get primary insurance coverage for $25 for rentals up to 45 days. That's not $25 per day, it's $25 for the whole rental period. Can't beat that. iPhone. iTypo...

Some bodies they never find - diving with an emergency PLB

I have carried my FastFind PLB for years in the OMS waterproof canister as part of their EDS pouch. It holds the canister and 2 lift bags or large SMBs. They stopped making the canister years ago. But now with DUI taking over the OMS products, maybe they will start making them again if there...

Not diving to greater than 30m/100ft unless with helium

I don't know where you got the idea this was a weakness. Not even from DD's initial post. The weakness would be if a diver knew she was susceptible to narcosis, but refused to use helium out of laziness, ignorance, or arrogance. I don't think you will find anyone posting that agrees with...

Some bodies they never find - diving with an emergency PLB

Again, a PLB is for loss on the surface and must be manually activated. Loss underwater currently has no tracking technology or passive device to assist with locating a victim. I believe more divers are lost underwater than at the surface. But I carry a PLB in a rescue canister on every dive...

    LP72s Inner Lining

I distinctly remember asking my hydro guy many years ago about sandblasting to get paint off the outside of a tank and he said it was forbidden. If that's true, I can't imagine it being allowed on the inside either. iPhone. iTypo. iApologize.

    Salaries of non profit executives…

I don't know about Jim Elliott, but all the other figures quoted are BS. This false spam email has been going around for almost 10 years. That's not to say that the CEOs of various charities don't receive high salaries, or that Diveheart is not a worthy cause. It's just that I hate inaccuracy...

    iX3M Deep/Tech+/Reb (Ratio computers)

As I noted elsewhere: 1. The 4 small buttons close together could be a problem with heavy gloves/mitts. 2. Rechargeable batteries can be a problem if they are not user replaceable (like the defunct X1). I saw nothing in the material that mentioned the ability to replace the battery.

    Analox EIICO giving erratic readings

Seriously? $257 for the sensor? I think the analyzer was about $300 and included a can of bump gas. I'm not blaming Mike, but that sensor is outrageous. Anyone using a different analyzer that found a more reasonable replacement part cost?

    Drysuit Gators

I found the velcro ones to be slightly more comfortable, but not as durable. Velcro decays. If you want the buckle kind, look at Dive Rite. What kind of hanger are you using? And what kind of seal is $120 except a zip seal?
