Question and Answer (a game) part 2

A pinball machine that still worked. Sorta. I really need to dive more. Would you rather fight Mike Tyson or talk like him?

    Benchmade Model 7?

Perfect. My little razor blade line cutter is getting pretty rusted and I wanted to take a look at another option. What options have you looked at for retaining it?

Question and Answer (a game) part 2

Neither. I tell them to take off their shoes and wear socks so they clean it for me. What's the weirdest thing you've seen underwater?

    Helicopter diving

Why even bother with the helicopter? Be like the SEALs and SCUBA dive from a HALO drop. Then you get to wear sweet t-shirts like this one... Halo Scuba - Special Forces Gear

    Benchmade Model 7?

Any comments on the Benchmade Model 7? 7 Details | Benchmade It looks like a pretty decent product, although I would worry about it rusting from exposure to the water. The corrosion resistant models might be promising. $50 seems somewhat reasonable, and Benchmade is a pretty reliable...

Advice needed ... Semi-dry Or Dry

I also recommend going dry. You get a lot more flexibility in terms of exposure protection, and it's just nice to get out of the water and only have to deal with wet hair and hands. Well, at least until the stupid thing gets a pinhole leak...

    BC question

I dive both a BP/W setup and a traditional jacket BC depending on where I am and who I'm diving with. If I'm with students as a DMC I wear the jacket BC because it's familiar and also really, really bright so they know where I am. If I'm in a drysuit or on personal dives I prefer the BP/W...

What Gear to take on a Plane Trip

Don't forget that normally you're allowed two carry ons. One backpack (stowed beneath your seat) and one luggage item.

What Gear to take on a Plane Trip

Actually it wasn't so much specifically for diving as it was just me looking for a decent carry-on. It costs the same as most mid-grade carry-on bags, is by definition incredibly durable, and since it's a hard case you're guaranteed to not exceed specified volume requirements. And I wouldn't...

What Gear to take on a Plane Trip

I think I'm going to ask for the Pelican 1510 for Christmas so I have something for carry on. It's probably (okay definitely) overkill, but I figure it's worth it. Pelican™ Products 1510 Carry On Case

What Gear to take on a Plane Trip

For my trip next year I plan on bringing pretty much everything except weights and tanks. If you're doing enough dives then the cost of an additional checked bag is less than the cost of renting equipment, and then you know what gear you're using. Don't forget you're allowed two carry-ons; a...

Good mnemonic for buddy checks ?

PADI's is BWRAF (Begin With Review And Friend). It seems to focus more on emergency preparedness. BCD - Check that your inflator is connected and that things function properly. Weight - Be aware of ditchable weights. Right hand release on weight belt. Release - Know where your buddy's...

    Skills Test Games/Challenges

If you're worried about your divers performing poorly without masks on then maybe you should emphasize that skill in a controlled environment first. A relay race would be interesting. You could also play a game like underwater basketball using a toypedo and circles of PVC pipe as goals.

    Dressel Divers at Iberostar?

I plan on visiting the Iberostar Complex for an upcoming vacation, and I wanted to know what people's opinions are regarding Dressel Divers. The impression I've gotten so far is that they're expensive and you're limited to 45 minutes a dive, but if you're looking for something low hassle then...

Were you the guys on Beach 1 who had all that spare food? I was waiting in the water for everyone else to show up when my instructor handed me a hotdog!

    Thoughts on Honeymoon Destination?

Where should I stay? Most of my focus has been in the Atlantic (since I live in MD and it's closer), but I'm open to anything.

    Thoughts on Honeymoon Destination?

Hi everyone! I'm in a bit of a squeeze here. I'm trying to find a good location for my honeymoon next year. At the moment Hamanasi in Hopkins, Belize is my primary choice but I'm starting to get second thoughts. Although everything I've read about the place is fantastic, I'm worried that...
