Oceanic Excursion II vs AquaLing Demension i3

A back plate and wing (BP/W) is a type of modular BCD that is very popular on Scubaboard. And is always recommended in these kinds of threads.

You can add weight pockets to a BP/W. They are fully customizable :)

Do you physically release your buddy's weights during the buddy check?

Really you propose for a person to sit on the ground, get into their bc, and somehow lift it, with tank, and weights. That is a great way to get a back injury. Try getting your buddy to help, or try something like this: How to Put on a backpack properly « Hiking I see you have never touched a...

    KnightHawk BCD

As for the crotch strap. I never used one on my ranger. just make sure the cummerbund is snug. it may help if you find the bc floating up on you, but I don't see it helping with the face planting. Also once you figure out the lean, it is the most relaxing way to wait for the boat :D

Oceanic Excursion II vs AquaLing Demension i3

The i3 looks like a really awesome tech. Just remember if you go that route that you and your dive buddy should practice your skills with it. including manually inflating your bladder. It is different enough that you don't want to have to figure that stuff out on the fly. Also in before a...

    KnightHawk BCD

Also, do not over inflate at the surface. Inflate just enough for your head to comfortably be out of the water. Next lean back like you are lounging around your living room.

    Advanced Open Water?

Rescue Diver Primary and Secondary Care Courses - PADI Scuba Diving Training Organization technically I guess you are right. You need to be an "Adventure diver"...which I guess means you have competed a few less specialties than AOW. But the difference is so minor I wouldn't try to correct...

    Advanced Open Water?

To advanced open water, or to not advanced open water. This is a debate I have seen go back and forth over the years, and it seems like people get hung up on the word advanced. I would not consider AOW advanced in anyway, I think a better name is OW 2. I will say I took AOW right after OW. I...

Is the TSA on the alert for people wearing explosive-laden "muscle suits" ?

Those backscatter machines have a major flaw, they have giant and well known blindspots. Backscatter X-Ray Machines Easily Fooled - Slashdot Watch TSA Nude Body Scanners Get Defeated - YouTube So at least every time I have used one they always give me a quick pat down anyway.

You assume he is using the plastic tables. I figure he is using whatever calculator padi is trying to sell this week. or maybe the wheel :)

    Minimum surface interval question ...

Your first dive leaves you at a pressure group that has an adjusted No Decompression time that is greater than your desired bottom time at your new depth. We aren't looking at the pressure group of your second dive at all, just your new NDL.

    Minimum surface interval question ...

What is the minimum pressure group you need to reach to allow for a 24 minute dive at 16 meters? Then how long do you need to wait to get from M to that new pressure group?

    BP/W pocket quandary for women

How often are you traveling to a place where you need more than 1 wing? But beyond that, There has been a huge difference between my 44lb ranger back inflate, and my 25 lbs dive right wing. Especially in high current diving, and the high speed diving we tend to do when spearing. As for fit, a...

Yeah you can order them from your LDS like that, and if you have a good LDS they will "come" with them pre-installed just the way you want them. It is like ordering options for your brand new car. One can also say easy to maintain and replace when they get worn out. I could not imagine...
