The issue that causes people to replace their cell phones more frequently in recent years is not the fault of the phones.

Plenty of people (myself included) do not have an analog depth gauge.
I started with an analog depth gauge, but I eventually ditched it, as I only looked at the computer to reference depth.
Mako. I’ve got two of their masks. Both are great values. My buddy forgot his mask the last trip to the lake and I lent him my backup (the Catalina). He was very happy with how it fit for him, as well.

Thank you very much for the offer. I’m covered for now.
FYI...if you end up listing them...those knobs are tank make and model specific. When I sold a pair of AL80’s a while back, I just let the uninstalled pair of Vindicator knobs I had on-hand go with the tanks, as I wasn’t going to...
The only use I see for a vindicator knobs is a scenario where a bystander (ex. DM or “helpful” buddy) will see “green” and leave the knob alone.
If I was diving off a boat with Insta-buddies on a regular basis, I’d want one for that reason.
How do I reach it? With my hand.
That tank is a loaner and part of a side mount pair. I end up diving that one after I dive the one with the right side valve. Yes, not optimum...but it works. Especially if you’re OCD about checking that you have the valve fully opening prior to jumping in.
The one piece webbing makes for much quicker and easier adjustments. Ex. Shifting D-rings to another location. That and the more rigid one piece webbing makes it easier to get in and out of the kit. The previous softer/more flexible webbing had a tendency to rotate/flip and be more of a pain to...
Thank you. There’s nothing wrong with going with a padded setup like you posted. Just want to make sure that people make an informed decision before going that route.
See my post at the bottom of page 4 regarding BP/W’s with a “bcd feel.”
I do mostly shore diving with a ~100’ walk to the water. I have no issue with the standard webbing (previously had a padded setup).
Agreed. If there’s something that adds function and is useful to you, have at it. Ex. I added a line cutter and a Dive Rite pocket to carry stuff in.
The main point that I wanted to get across is that more is not necessarily better.
That’s the whole point of a BP/W. It’s a minimalist design that is focused on function.
Putting stuff that you don’t need on a BP/W takes away from or alters the function. ex. The HOG Total Buoyancy Control System. You have to add more weight than you would for a standard BP/W just to counter...
6 total dives? I’d write the company. If they won’t replace the fin, I’d go buy a pair from someone else.
I had a fin break (different company) after 19 dives while on a vacation. I had to run out and buy replacement fins without doing sufficient research so that I could dive the following day...
Some areas are more rich than others. Around MD beaches...sure...people find a good size Meg tooth on occasion (I know of someone that found a ~5” tooth), but they are few and far between. Ex. I have found 150+ x < 1” teeth at MD beaches and zero teeth over 1”.
I ran into a few different...
Lol. Running 30%, even my RGBM computer is generous with bottom times at ~100’. I did three ~100’ dives one day and never came away thinking that I was getting cheated in the NDL department.
Nitrox...it’s almost as good as the Shearwater Kool-Aid.
PM sent.
I lack the time necessary to do what you suggest. I did another search...there are no local hydro facilities. I’d have to leave the area to do this and like I said...literally not worth my time. I’d rather break out my angle grinder and cut it open for the LOL’s.
