there are two "tortugas" dive sites. one has a maximum depth of 80fsw, the other one 75fsw. so the 100fsw can not be correct unless someone was digging.....a lot...
the uwatecs are calibrated for fresh water, the suuntos not.
i.e. diving in salt water, the uwatec will show a deeper depth (=conservative). taking the suunto into fresh water, it will not show you a shallower depth than you actually are; so you should adjust your dive planning if need be...
my wife and i dived once in the singapore aquarium. we both did log the dive. not that it makes a difference in my or her dive count. it was a fun experience and we wanted a record of that.

and again, it boils down to you and your instructor. i never regretted doing the padi dm knowing that i don't want to go on and become an instructor myself.
