true, but there's no use having $$$ when you're 6 feet underwater! :D It definitely is a cycle - the older coal plants in our area have been decommissioned since they were below standard and they're in the process of creating a bunch of new coal power plants with updated technology to fill the...
Good point. Thanks for the nice post and the interesting article. It might be more sensible to take this up at the international level, who create these standards that the rest follow. Once it is addressed and regulated at the highest levels, can it be passed down to the local organizations...
As you have not explained fully the extent of the situation and what you have done to help your cause, forum readers can only take your word under advisement that you're "just not pissing in the wind".
Go ahead and post all the drivel you want. But once it resorts into prodding people...
really? Could have fooled me... I take it you have decided to join the monitoring group? If you don't mind sharing you resources, I'd love to take a look at them.
what part of palawan? I went to Coron in July - rained only 1 day out of the 8 I stayed there. And the rain passes pretty quickly there. Descended into Barracuda lake in rain and surfaced to sunshine.
Thanks for this Paul. Your whole post is a good read but I bolded the interesting parts for the "preachy" people, like me. ;)
Good on you for getting involved. All the best. I'll let you know when I'm coming down again.
:shakehead:
you shouldn't make comments if you don't know what you're talking about.
Second, if you think I'm preachy then you don't understand why I'm posting at all. Funny how you note Codman and I, as we're both trained to ask critical questions and analyze viewpoints. Those who have...
I see, let someone else's backyard deal with it. As long as you have your piece of reef, nothing else matters. Have you proposed other sites to the project group? What was the outcome?
...and others are refusing dialogue, not getting involved, and not getting educated about the process. I wonder who's the real loser.
Ignorance is bliss.
Or maybe because he sees the utter crap that is posted by you and circle jerk friends about the situation. If you want to talk to him, you know where he is. Don't instigate him on this forum. Pathetic.
don't get discouraged, Paul - no one takes them seriously anymore. Your contribution to this forum is worth a lot more than a bunch of circle jerking posters.
Real piece of work you are. Looks like you need to be knocked off your high horse again. The fact that you're trying to prod Paul online further shows what little level of intellect and discourse skills you have.
Let's name a few places in the PI where there's a large military presence...
hey RJ,
thanks for posting the pics last time you went to the PI. If not tubbataha, there's Bohol, Dumaguete, and Sogod Bay (for the whalesharks) that I recommend.
April is typically the last month to see the whalesharks in sogod. Many of us have stayed at and are fans of Sogod Bay Scuba Resort.
For diving in El Nido, definitely check out Bill22's trip report.
Ubay, Bohol is where project seahorse does a lot of their monitoring, you could shoot them a quick email to ask them about the area.
Do post a trip report when you return. :)
Hey Vladimir,
yeah, Chinese New Year is a pretty hectic time to travel around the PI - lots of local and international travelers. That'll be a weekend as well. For Dumaguete, yes Atlantis is easy to get to from the airport. If you don't mind taking the Mnl-Duma domestic flight, 2 days of...
P1000 should definitely be fine. Meals around sabang will range from P120-P300.
For way cheaper, you can try cook your own food or get non-parishable foods (tuna and crackers is a favourite :D) from the general store. If you also head into the town proper the food there is a bit cheaper...
