    cheap chinese video light review

Interestingly, with regards to the 7 LED domes VS the 4 LED, I just noticed LetonPower have both of them plus the 15 x white LED version listed on their page. Obviously all the lumens claims are outrageous, but I wonder if there is any truth behind the relative high and lower values given...

    cheap chinese video light review

If you check further back in this thread, other members have detailed the problem with the internal PCB, where the batteries contact in the lamp half of the torch, rotating due to the friction of the batteries. Annoyingly (or conveniently, whichever way you look at it) both the PCB and housing...

    cheap chinese video light review

Digging up this old post as I hadn't spotted these. Apart from the switches being different it also seems they changed the internal BMS significantly as there is a USB port for charging, accessible via a removable external cap with o-ring seal. Also they have a press with 2 second hold to turn...

New Garmin Dive Computer: Descent G1

Interesting option they released. I was actually on the look out for a fitness watch I could take diving to track my heart rate etc (both above and below water). It's the one thing my Teric doesn't do. Of course I will still use my Teric as the primary computer - vastly superior specifically for...

What's the best manta experience between Bali and Komodo north/south?

I currently live in Bali and have been to both Komodo and Nusa Penida on dive trips. Admittedly I've only been the once to Komodo. My opinion might not be based on the most experience.... Honestly I think you will be happy with either destination. For me, in order to see Mantas, diving Manta...

    Info Marine life - Post-COVID - What's your expectation?

Been living here for 2.5 years now and it's hit and miss. Some areas are good, others have taken a hit on marine life due to a lot more locals taking to fishing for an income / food source due to the lack tourism and income it provided - you could call it overfishing. We've cut free about 10...

Why is there no alert system on the perdix ?

Interesting reading people arguing in this thread. Actually the lack of vibration alert on the Perdix is what made me purchase the Teric (coming from a Peregrine). For me the vibration alerts are a confirmation thing. I never rely on them per sae, for example if I'm at 40m rec watching...

Precisely why I was asking - wanted to double check the battery length, as I know some 18650 are 65mm and others are 69mm. Unfortunately we don't seem to be able to get hold of Liitokala batteries here in Indonesia, however we do have these available below, I'd be going for the button tops...

Teric and Nitrox diving - Rec divers take care re method of changing gas (affects MOD).

Sorry to dig up an old thread, however I had a good friend ask me a question directly related to this discussion. They also dive a shearwater Teric and had left their active gas set to EN32 but were infact diving on air, single AL80. They realised after the dive. The question is: does anyone...

Could you confirm which type of batteries the seller provided? i.e 18650, flat top or button top. 3000 mah etc. The length of the battery would be interesting also. Some are around 65mm whilst others are about 69 it seems.

Review Shearwater Teric with Narked at 90 bungee mount and AMX Teknology aluminum screen protector

Perhaps the stainless steel they used is 304 and hence less resistant than 316?

You could always weld the original hole over and drill a new one next to it? Also, re the non-genuine Leds, I would if we could just re-solder genuine ones to the board

Yeah I just read back through the thread and found it. I wonder if anyone could check the new XHP90 I listed earlier to see if the switch thread is 16mm, meaning we could fit the piezo switch

Is the problem with the switches something we can rectify, DIY style? I think there was talk somewhere earlier in this thread about swapping the switches for different ones and using potting compound to seal the hole

Thanks for the quick reply. Would you say it outputs the advertised Lumens? Also which batteries did you end up purchasing for yours? SL

Anyone tried the XHP90? Thinking of trying two of the type 3 or 4, though my knowledge of the LEDs they are using isn't great. 41.36€ 45% OFF|XHP90 Video Füllen Licht Tauchen tiefe 80M Taschenlampe Unterwasser XM L2 Blau Weiß Rot Fotografie Video Kamera Taschenlampe beleuchtung|LED Underwater...

    Question Teric battery ?s

Chiming back in on this thread with additional info. I charged my Teric for the 2nd time on the 25/01/2022. The battery was at 12% The first charge (had to charge it when I unboxed it) was 09/01/2022 - to 100% That's 16 Days of use, 22 dives, with AI turned on after about 9 dives, and using...

    CO Analysers

I rather suspect it was an o-ring or seal gone on the compressor, as recently I've not had any bad tanks (or had any CO sickness for that matter), so I suspect the supplier changed the seal on their compressor and will continue to run it until they have some kind of problem again. Or perhaps...

    Garmin MK2S?

As long as you don't want AI, it's a great watch and much smaller than the MK2i. When I tested it for someone I found it very plastic'y feeling and no weight to it, which could be a positive or negative. I also didn't notice the alert for the safety stop - but I only tested it the once. My...

Feature Request - longer user info fields

I'll second this. It's 1 character too short for my mobile number (which has to include the country code otherwise you end up phoning some poor local). Also, if I lose it or it's stolen, potentially the next person could simply go into the menu system and delete my info. Locking these changes...
