The first job I ever had was working at a Little Caesars. In fact most of the jobs I had until I joined the Army were in pizza places. I am passionate about pizza. I'm curious to know what your favorite pizza topping combinations are. I'm hoping for really unique or unusual combinations to try...
Just look at it this way:
When the end of the world happens, and the deity of your choosing decends (or ascends) from where ever it is he or she comes from we can proudly say "No, no. Not yet, we've been saving all this time." ;)
I read the article and found the results to be highly suspect. First of all there is no way to simulate a panicked diver because every diver panicks differently. Everyone breathes at different rates, whether excited/stressed, everyone breathes different volumes of air per breath, etc. While I...
Figured it would come this way, but I won't believe or start planning....wait I've already started planning that dive....Anyway, I won't believe it until the OFFICIAL announcement comes out.
Well why not....
Am at 245#, which is 10# less than a month ago with almost no effort. Want to be where I was when I graduated from the Infantry school back in '97, 190#. Still a bit heavy, but it came in handy, few people could hump longer or with more weight than I did.
Now with gas...
Selecting a piece of gear is a personal thing. The decision is yours. Go out, borrow/rent some gear, try it, and decide for yourself. Asking for opinions on which gear to buy on this board is a futile attempt. The only thing you are doing is opening yourself up to the biases of the members of...
Same interests. Same hand signals. Safe general attitude towards diving.
On the negative side, my first buddy on my first dive in the Gulf really pee'd me off. He was totally into doing his own thing. Hunting for various things, sticking his hands in dark holes looking for things. He dove a...
MHK that helps a lot. Even more for me to consider. Like I said, I like the "idea" of deep stops, but feel that the way they're being executed is odd. I've always felt that ascent rate was just as important as making a safety stop, but it's something that isn't stressed as much. These are all...
I was certain to hammer that idea home. In a perfect world OW divers would stick to the recommended 60ft. limit, but I know that this world is far from perfect.
Exactly what I did. We've invited several of them on one of our trips to PCB this summer and I used that as an example.
Wouldn't...
Since I'm waiting on my AI creditials to arrive (I finished YAY!!!!) I'll post this here to get everyone's opinion....
Am assisting with my first OW class and was tagged to teach Decompression and Tables. Currently NAUI is recommending that for any dive over 40ft. in depth you make a 1 minute...
I'm curious to hear from those folks who CURRENTLY dive a single tank and wing. Specifically those that do not have the "donut" style of wing. Why do you dive a "horseshoe" wing? What has been your experiences with it?
If you have a Palm OS handheld I suggest you check out:
http://www.aquadivelog.org/divelog.html
It's an open source project so it is therefore free. Rock solid wonderful program, I love it. The documentation has the steps to upload your log into your PC, but I haven't had a need or tried...
I would suggest reading one of my earlier posts to anyone that's considering staying at Vortex:

Never again.

I wouldn't recommend Dive Sports to ANYONE. Extremely over-priced. Not to mention, the actual shop is seriously lacking too. I'd go to LP, then take my quote to scuba.com and have 'em price match it.
The "Journey" looks to be the older version of the "Jubilee." Great BC from everyone I know that have dived one. The inflator is the same as the rest of the Mares line, and they work great. Not a problem out of a single one of them here at work and there should be with as much abuse as they are...

Apparently a fancy piece of paper doesn't make one is smart....
Some of the local enginnering students got their professor to stop drinking from paper coffee cups because of the alarmingly high amount of DHMO found in them. This had gone on for the entire semester until one of his students...
