    Gas Blending

Hey Roak, Not a book but there is some great info on "garage mix" on this site... http://www.deeperstuff.com Look on the left about 3/4 down the page for "Garage Mix". DSAO!!

The measurements for the size L suit fit me almost perfectly, you can't go by my height and weight because you may have dimensions different than mine that will effect suit fit even if your height and weight is the same... things like length of your arms, torso, inseam etc that have nothing to...

    Wreck Penetration

Agree, cave training would be an excellent place to start but I have to warn you... if you try it you'll get hooked! I was just going to do Cavern and Intro to hone my wreck diving skills then WHAM :bonk: the cave bug got me.

RE: Dump placement.... The WKPP divers I dive with have the dump on the right arm. That mandate is from the man himself... It's "THE" DIR placement. Don't care what 5th D or anyone else says or does with their suits.. ;) Having said that do you think I have mine on the right arm? Nope...

Hi Steven, I agee with most of your post but wanted to add a couple of things... Good fleece from Cabella's makes great underwear. No collars and you may want to install buttons to hold the top and bottom together. Fleece is ok if you're not doing long dives, cold dives or dives where...

It's obvious that I hit a nerve with you and you're feeling the need to defend yourself... that's ok. My original post was not meant to inflame I was really amazed that someone would pay that much for somthing that even YOU ADMITTED was not necessary. You think you're a great diver becasue...

Ok Tom, I take that back... computers aren't completely useless... they can make a nice (albeit very expensive) paperweight. ;) In all seriousness: No, I don't have a lot of Trimix experience but I do have a lot of deco experience and I haven't used a computer yet... and neither do the...

It completely blows my mind that you guys would pay more than $1000 (sometimes as much as $2000!!) for something that is totally useless and not needed. Learn how deco works and you won't need to rely on a computer and can spend that money on things you really DO need like more regs or stages...

    Deco and Stage Regs.

There is NO internal difference between the TX50 and ATX50. wkpp, gue, etc use these regs regularly for hours at a time at depths exceeding 300ft. Helium works much better in any reg. if you're diving to 200 I sincerly hope you'll be using Helium! Does that answer your question?

    Deco and Stage Regs.

Agree with the rest here that you don't want crappy regs on your stage/deco bottles... also you'll want to have good mouthpieces on them as well. Sounds strange but after your gums are sore or jaw is tired from some ill fitting mouthpiece you'll wish you'd changed them. I use apeks for all my...

    Dui Tls-350?

Yep, I've had one for about a year and know several others who have them. Almost all cave dives for me although I have had it on a couple of wrecks. It's a very well fitting, well made suit with not too much extra bag like some models out there. The Telescoping torso allows a much closer...

Rigging for 2 left deco tanks

Hi Adam, We don't normally clip off more than two bottles on the left side top and bottom d-rings. If carrying more than two any extra get clipped to the left hip d-ring by the top clip on the stage. We use a leash (short loop of 1/4 line with a clip on it) to accomplish this. It actually...

    LP, HP or aluminum

Rather than wasting our time trying to argue point to point with a wall lets look at the facts. The original question asked which tanks to buy for TECHNICAL diving. 1. LP104's have better weight characteristics for DRY SUIT diving, that is indisputable. 2. Most Technical divers wear...

    LP, HP or aluminum

Genesis once bubbled... First, the gratuituous insult (about my body size); you're simply wrong and not reading for content, but that's ok. I'll lay it out (again) for you. Sorry about that, I really didn't intend any insults. 1. I weight for neutral at the SURFACE with an empty tank...

    LP, HP or aluminum

Genesis, I was going through your loooong post point by point but I just don't have that kinda time. ;) There are several problems with your argument. 1. Don't believe the "published" numbers on buoyancy. They are not right and are different everywhere you look. PST LP 104's are much...

    Helium content in Trimix

Some good reading... Scroll down to... Common Gas Diving Topics I definitely agree with Omar here that deco with 50% and O2 would be much preferred and stages would definitely help you do multiple dives with the same backgas. If you don't do the dives right are they really worth...
