1st trip to coz, what do i bring?

Here is a link to a trip report I wrote last year when I went to Cozumel at the end of January into the beginning of February. My wife and I stayed at Fiesta Americana and we used (and highly recommend) Christi's dive operation, Blue XT Sea: http://bluextseadiving.com/ Trip Report...

    Aruba Dive OP Decision

Yeah, you must have fun playing those tunes. (As I'm typing this, I'm listening to the channel Hair Nation on Sirius.... :D ) Of course I cannot speak for Clive and since I didn't try to store my gear when I was there, I don't know for sure. But he has a shop with gear and equipment, so I...

You Know you Dive in New England When...

Hey Dennis. I hadn't been back here on SB in a little while so I'm only seeing your message right now. Yes, I did think about doing the dive. Then I promptly ruled it out. Now I'm actually considering it again. We can touch base.

    Aruba Dive OP Decision

Lee, is the Lee of that band you? If so, awesome tunes!!!!!! When I was in Aruba, I had some of my own gear, but not much of it, yet. So I just carried it every day. I'm not sure whether Clive has gear storage, but I suspect he would store your gear for you, if needed, at his shop. I...

    Aruba Trip

I also have to agree that Clive is fantastic. But I would add that for less experienced divers, he is able to cater to them, as well. You just need to communicate with Clive about it ahead of time. On my trip, my father-in-law accompanied me diving, and he was brand new to diving...

    Aruba Dive OP Decision

I did not dive with both, so I cannot give you a comparison, unfortunately. But I went diving with Clive and only have fantastic things to say. He is first rate and you cannot go wrong using him. Of course, other operators may be fantastic, too. But with Clive, there is no doubt. Enjoy...

What's your winter sports after the SCUBA season is closed?

Snowboarding and some mountain biking. Hopefully scuba while traveling somewhere warmer. Read ScubaBoard for a quick fix.

What did you buy that you love the most?

Sink the Stink. Now THAT was a good purchase. :05:

What did you buy that you regret?

Two immediately come to mind: 1. My dive computer is in a console, clipped to my BC, with my spg and compass. I like my computer, but I wish I'd bought a wrist one, and put my compass on the other wrist. 2. I bought a shaker/noise maker. All I can say is what the !@#$ was I thinking...

NW CT diving spots for a newbie

I think you need to go through the Town and be a resident. Also, when it's "off-season" like right now, hopefully the restrictions on non-resident parking at Brodie Park and the prohibition of scuba there will not be enforced.

    Once a DM always liable

Interesting thread. I'm a personal injury attorney/trial lawyer in Connecticut. My answers to some of the issues raised are: 1. If you are a Divemaster and a diver is injured somewhere in your vicinity, there is a greater chance that you will be sued than if you are not a Divemaster...

What do you do in the Winter?

In the winter I snowboard. :D But I dive wet through October. If I had the time, I'd buy a drysuit and dive through the winter. Michael
