    History of the BCD???

Where did they get their start, when did we start using them? In another thread there is mention of them evolving from plastic milk jugs/ clorox bottles. I never saw any of my uncles friends diving like that back in 68. I was under the impression that it came from surplus "Mae West" life...

Are we traveling in a full circle?

I have a hard time buyin into that plastic milk jugs were where BCD came from. I was told it was from udt divers comming back to the states(post WW2) and buying suplus maywest life jackets to use for surface bouyancy. Long before cave/tech diving was thought about.

No roll call on a dive boat?

Of the 3 different boats I worked on we never did a roll call. We always counted tanks. We knew if we had 12 divers we had 28 tanks. 2 for each diver, 2 for me, 2 extra. Only one time did we have a problem and it was when some DIN divers HAD to bring his own tanks. The DM counted tanks...

    Stressful experience

Any dive you make that you learn from is a good dive!!! Glad you made it out ok now you know more abvout when to call a dive. Experience and currents --- what is a weak current to someone that is a local diver could be a mask ripperoffer to a nonlocal/less experienced diver.

    Service intervals

One of the things seldom discussed when this comes up is that the makers of the O-rings will tell you that they should be replaced every 12 months weather being used or not. (learned this in a tour of a local O-ring plant) There isn't a Tech Lincese that I am aware of but the Equipment...
