    Why use a strobe - DC600?

The SL960 External Flash is a great starter flash, but always fires at the same power. The new SL961 Digital Pro Flash gives you the ability manually fine-tune flash brightness for desired effect and image exposure. It also features an auto mode which automatically adjusts flash brightness for...

Shooting Video with my DC500: Better than on my Canon

I'm not sure what your Canon uses, but the new DC800 can take an SD card up to 4GB and has a 1250mAh battery so you should be able to get plenty of video.:) We have some videos taken with the DC500, DC600, and DC800 up in our video gallery for anyone interested in taking a look: SeaLife...

    Sealife DC800

Yes, the flash deflector will still accept the 2 cables if you are using the MAXX setup. SeaLife Cameras - Underwater Digital Camera - DC800 MAXX I am unaware of any plans for a hardwire solution at this time.

    Sealife DC800

The setup will be the same, with the cable connecting to the camera. We have modified the flash deflector though, so that it clips around the entire lens firmly (as opposed to the previous connector which just sat on top of the lens). See our website for a picture: SeaLife Cameras -...

    Fogging DC600

Tips to prevent fogging [of the housing inside lens port]: Humid air or water drops trapped inside the housing may condense on the cooler glass lens port and cause fogging. Here is the best way to prevent fogging: 1. Keep the inside of the housing perfectly dry. Even one water drop can...

    Recommended 35mm Film

Our SeaLife technician recommends ISO200. This is the most versatile film speed. However this will not add lost color due to light refraction when shooting underwater. We recommend using an External flash or the camera's inner flash to bring out the color. If you are using the camera's inner...

    Sealife Dc600

SeaLife made an upgrade to the DC600 battery so that it lasts longer. Depending on when you purchased your DC600 and/or battery, you may have the 650 mAh. We upgraded to a 750 mAh in November and this should be availalbe at your local dive shop. Denise

    Recommend Card Size?

Yes, it could slow down the camera because the recommended size is 512 mb. A 1 gb card will get you 315 pictures. However once you go higher than the recommend 512 mb, and past 156 pictures, there is a possibility that the camera will slow down, but not by a significant margin.

    3x Macro Filter SL951

The SL951 is for our film cameras or the DC310 series and lower. The field of view on the DC500 and DC600 is larger than the field of view with the film and DC310 cameras. You may experience a halo effect when using the SL951 Macro set-up with the DC500 and Dc600 cameras. We recommend the...

    Sealife External Flash

You may want to also consider our newer Digital Pro Flash (SL961). The SL960 is a great starter flash, but always fires at the same power. The new SL961 gives you the ability manually fine-tune flash brightness for desired effect and image exposure. It also features an auto mode which...

    Sealife External Flash

If you buy the External Flash (SL960) on its own, it does not come with the Flash Link (SL962). However, if you buy the ProSet (Camera with SL960 flash), then it does come with the Flash Link. The Flash Diffuser (SL968), softens the light from the SL960 and SL960D External Flash to prevent...

    Recommend Card Size?

For the DC500, SeaLife recommends using a 512 MB SD card which will take about 315 hi-res images or ½ hour of video. Our tests with larger memory cards, like a 1 GB or 2 GB (SD) indicate no compatibility problem, however we have experienced problems using 4 GB (SDHC). SeaLife no longer...

    Fisheye - DC600?

Hi Jim, I checked with our VP - we are working on a new wide angle lens that will adapt to the DC800 and all previous digital cameras. This newer lens will have a wider field of view than the SL970, but is not a “fish-eye” lens. We are unsure what the cost or delivery time will...
