For 40 ft, the sea mode would be the best option. It will remove the green/blue color that you see in your photos. Sea mode is just like adding a color correcting lens, but it's already in the camera. :)

They are the same. The picture on adorama was a protype photo before the lens was finished and released. The picture on digitalfoto is the updated version. There is only one mini wide angle lens though.
The DC500 comes with an internal color correction - if you put the camera into "Sea Mode" it automatically replaces the lost colors underwater. It adds the reds back into the pictures so you get true color. Try it above water, you will notice that your LCD screen turns everything red.
