Scuba in The Investigation Episode 4

There's a bit of scuba involved throughout, but episode 4 is about scuba (divers with inverted twinsets and drysuits), cadaver dogs, wind, currents... It's a six-part series on the real case of the murder of journalist Kim Wall on a submarine.

    TG 6 Flooded with Water

There are many videos on restoration of old motherboards where the whole thing is dunked in freshwater and scrubbed clean. After final rinse with clean freshwater, the board is let dry completely. As long as there are no impurities left to short something, the board will work perfectly.

Failed my Day 1 PADI Pool Training

I think it's easier for newbies to buy new gear since there's an assurance that it's in working condition and there's a warranty if it isn't. However, new or old, I feel purchases are better left til more experience is gained, so rental might be the way to go for awhile. I originally bought a...

Failed my Day 1 PADI Pool Training

Where is the line drawn between assisting and instructing? Once a skill has been demonstrated by the instructor, can the DM's then watch over and correct students? Getting help from his wife already sounds verboten, but has been given as advice.

Failed my Day 1 PADI Pool Training

I'm not an instructor. I notice that the ideal instructor doesn't teach kneeling. I also notice that the consensus is that task overloading, especially for new divers, is a bad thing. Further, buoyancy isn't something most new divers pick up easily nor is it easy to do in shallow water...

    Shark diving

I kinda feel bad for the Tiger, biting into metal... it's like those sushi restaurants that have fancy metal chopsticks instead of wooden ones; they suck to accidentally bite into.

    Shark diving

I didn't sign up for a shark dive. After dropping in, the Lemon's were on us and followed us. I asked the shop afterward why they followed us and got the explanation. After having dove from Rangiroa and Fakarava, I had no idea there were feeding shops in French Polynesia, as sharks were...

    Shark diving

When I dove in Moorea, French Polynesia, we weren't feeding, but the Lemon Sharks followed us around til the end of the dive. I was told other shops fed them, so there's definitely an association with divers.

    OW failure, advice?

That was kind of my impression too, but ultimately, it felt like an intro to new skills, so that's what I took with me going into AOW, the attitude that I would get introduced to new skills and practice a tiny bit, but I would need more practice to be proficient. After you've healed and gotten...
