    Your Best Instructor and Why:

Steve Matheny, because he was very passionate about diving and loved to pass that passion on. As far as instructing capabilities, he focused on what was a neccesity for diving, but even though he might have skipped over a couple things, i still learned them in his class. He was just a fun, out...

    The best of 2006

My best of 2006 was my cavern class that I took in July, and I am about to take Intro to Cave at Ginnie Springs next weekend. I can't wait for Intro, I have been waiting for it for atleast 3 years if not 4 or 5. As for 2007, I see myself trying to hit as many caves as I can

Best Agency to get Nitrox traning from?

I took the ANDI class, and have my Limited SafeAir User (LSU), i believe they have changed it, not sure though. The class was definetly better than the YMCA and the PADI class I took. The ANDI class basically covered advanced nitrox theories also. atleast in my class

New Divers looking to dive in Northwest Florida

Yes Devil's Den and Blue Grotto are both safe for open water divers. I go there with classes for OW. Devil's den you cant get into trouble, Blue Grotto has a cavern that starts at 50 ft you have to drop behind peace rock. it will then bottom out at about 100. You need to be careful not to touch...

    Diving lessons disappointment

tell the LDS that you need a different instructor, that you didnt feel like you learned from him, and they should give you one without any charge, atleast I'd make sure they didnt charge me.

    tight squeese

they are doubles, so yes they are wider, but they arent any taller than a single, so if you think you'll get stuck in a single, then youll get stuck in doubles. if you see a restriction and its tight don't force your way in so you get stuck, and remember any restrictions going in means you have...

    New to Nitrox

There is no differnece. Even the labeling, technically the only label you need is the the punch out on the VIP sticker saying its ready for o2 service. Any tank can be used for nitrox, but before you use for nitrox you need to get it o2 cleaned. At my LDS the cleaning is 30 bucks. It is a little...

    Cold diving and good training

you could ahve been narced, dont know how deep you were but it does effect everyone differently. I would definetly suggest a dry suit, I'm used to the 72 degree water and have a drysuit for that. I have had both a shell suit and a neoprene suit, and i like the neoprene better, if it does flood...

    jacket style vs. back inflation

IMHO back inflation is much much more comfortable and a better ride. If your used to jacket style, it will take a dive or two to get used to where it inflates, just as it would someone used to a back style going to jacket. Its not a new diver problem, its a new diver question. They are differnet...

    Your deepest depth

All I have to say is who cares what the deepest depth you've been to. Its not about going deep just to go deep. Now on the other hand my deepest was 180 ft, I hit the lips at Eagle's nest. Awsome dive. But don't just go deep to go deep. IMO its just stupid.

    Instructors as role models

I am not an instructor but on the way to becoming one. All my buddies are instructors, and as far as them behaving professionally, i think that they do. Of course they mess around out of the water, when they are not teaching, making jokes and stuff. But as far as instructors being role models...

    Technical Bcd question

I agree with the Sherwood, its a great Open Water rig, but once you start doing any more technical diving you will definetly want the BP/W. Once you use it you will never want to dive a jacket again. As far as Halcyon, they are a great company, I have used a BP/W from them a couple times and...

    do you have tank boots?

Most people use boots, except on doubles that I have noticed. If you dont have them on steels than your tank is gonna fall over, and as far as aluminums, most captains hate to see people get on their boat without boots

    Who dove yesterday?

well i didnt dive 11/9, I was preparing for a dive for 11/10. It absolutely awsome. I dove Eagle's Nest Cave for the first time in Florida. It was kind of scary dropping down the shaft, but in the same time amazing. Met a few new people that were awsome divers, and very chill people. Looking...

    two divers, one computer?

yes people dive off other's computers, is it recomended, no. Every diver should have their own computer, and if you don't have a computer than you should be diving off the tables. COmputers are definetly worthy investments especially if you start making repetitive dives.
