IMHO back inflation is much much more comfortable and a better ride. If your used to jacket style, it will take a dive or two to get used to where it inflates, just as it would someone used to a back style going to jacket. All I have to say is who cares what the deepest depth you've been to. Its not about going deep just to go deep. Now on the other hand my deepest was 180 ft, I hit the lips at Eagle's nest. Awsome dive. But don't just go deep to go deep. IMO its just stupid.

Most people use boots, except on doubles that I have noticed. If you dont have them on steels than your tank is gonna fall over, and as far as aluminums, most captains hate to see people get on their boat without boots

yes people dive off other's computers, is it recomended, no. Every diver should have their own computer, and if you don't have a computer than you should be diving off the tables. COmputers are definetly worthy investments especially if you start making repetitive dives.
