    Ice Diving

Didn't know if anyone would be interested in this or not. There's been some discussion recently about the subject, so I made a little video. Ice Diving In Colorado There are two version, one for a dial up, and one for a high speed connection. Just pick the one that's appropriate...

    Scuba Diving from a Sailboat

My two favorite words in the same thread title! What are the chances of that? We're hoping about another 7-10 years and the major decision of the day to be a choice of these activitites. A note of distinction however. Liveaboard diving for most people is quite a bit different than...

What brand watch do you wear on land?

a daily basis. Steel fabrication shop isn't real forgiving. Stinger in the water now, but for years, a $35 Armitron with a one way rotaing bezel and (UP would be proud!) TABLES!!

    uwatec digital depth/timer

I bought my stinger there. too. Same service~very prompt.. Sorry UP, I still use mine in computer mode. But I'm usually diving air, and I still try to stay pretty close to the table (wheel). I trust it, but only about so far. I like the ability to download the profile. That'll be...

I saw this yesterday, and got sidetracked Indeed a thank you and hats off to the techie type. I was so please withthe potential of this board, I found some simialr type software & started one for our sailing club. I just hope it has .01% of the succes this one has had. A little like...

Scubaboard signal-to-noise ratio: Is it just me???

I've found fewer threads that interest me as well, but I kind of figured it was maybe a seasonal thing as well. UP...did I miss an update on the anchor? Tried to keep an eye out, but been busy. I've found I read a lot, but not so manythat compel me to reply... maybe that's a good thing!

"The Last Dive"...anyone else read it?

I don't know if it was intentional (but given Bernie's account of his own psychological intropsection of why he took the risks he did, I would think it was to a certain extent) but I got the impression that the focus on the bickering was what contributed to their demise. That combined with the...

    What are you charging

charges $295 US, for Basic O/W (PADI) and that is the book, class, pool, equipment (except M/F/S) wetsuit for the O/W and fees at the Hole. Specialties run about $150-180, but if you buy them in multiples (I did) they run $99 each in lots of two or more. BigBubbles once bubbled...

    Double the price for air

Do they really dive there if they don't HAVE to? I hear there's a geothermal hole out there somewhere that is like hot tub warm. Even though I'm not a "pro", I've been dropping a pretty good pile of cash at my LDS. Over the last several months, the only air I've paid for was a couple of...

    DIR in Arizona?

It's about 2 hours east of Abq., about 100 miles. If it were two miles, I'd be go there after work like some guys go to a bar for a beer! =-)

    What do you do?

Couldn't out run either of them when I was 18! I just quietly started a path at a 90 deg angle to the line between them. I think the only reason I got away was becasue it was on the fringes of a well visited National Park, and the animals are at least soemwhat used to seeing people...

    What do you do?

In my experience, almost any animal that is accustomed to being the predator/aggressor gets a bit of a shock when it is suddenly a potential prey. I had a freind that had a huskie that had a habit of being aggresive and nipping at people all the time. One day I got tired of it and...

    Sunto Dive Manager

I think that's usually the case with mine, too. Keep 'em clean and they're fine. The Stinger goes in a bracket that holds in in place, the Cobra has a little "socket" the fits in a receptacle in the back.

    Interesting strap for Suunto's

I wear one of those cheap, albeit extremely accurate and dependable, expeditions. Those straps wouldn't around the (neoprene) seal on my (neoprene) drysuit. But if this is a bit longer, should be OK. BTW, for my stinger, I just snug up the single band (don't use the extra that came with...

    Sunto Dive Manager

I run XP Pro, and the only issue I have is that sometime the contacts are a bit empermental. the software itself works on all the platforms I've used. 2K-pro (I hate Win98 and XPhome~they need ot be relgated to someplace unavailable) Win2k_pro has always worked with anything I've ever loaded.

    Interesting strap for Suunto's

That looks interesting. Might be a better option for my Stinger. It's a nice piece, but I still only war it divng, and I had one of the pins pop out here a while back
