I'll just post a little welcome from the western hemisphere as well - Washington.
When you get tired of the cold waters out there you can come out here and try our cool pacific ocean... Currently at a refreshingly chill 45 degrees...

well, it is not so much an issue of "digging" for me - and I think we all occasionally have to touch soemthing to stabilize ourselves - or maybe I'm just in need of more diving - which reminds me - anyone wanna go dive today?
However, my main reason to worry is that I have to hold or touch in...
"wow - are you going diving? do you see anything down there?" - Nope -the fish are all hanging out at the market.
Wow - are you going diving? How deep do you go?" - Well, we usually only go to the bottom... (this one leaves alot of people with that blank expression - like they missed...
Vic,
I have often heard about your issue and a lot of people recommend an older Mares mouthpiece as well as it was smaller and does not protude as far into your mouth - it may be more for gag issues thoguh - but worth looking up...

Ok - letter and designations aside - I'm a proud geek - I'm not going to post anything and ask you if I look like one - I know that after 14 1/2 hours in the lab - I do look like one.
The one thing I can say is that now that I got laid off - 2 weeks ago - MAN do I have a lot of time for...
Does this mean I get another new buddy? Cool - I need more buddies - pleanty of water but not enough dving fools...
Give a howler when you get up here - I'm relatively close to you... (Relative being a relative term and all - but I'm closer than UP and scuba kat)

Hmm - interesting thread -
I was really active here for a while - but then I got really busy with work and - uhm - diving all the time...
Then I found that a lot of times when I read a thread there is already a number of replies from UP, LY or Roakey - and they are all people who think...
I got into diving for the fun of it - I figured I could take warm water dive vacations and have some fun...
Turns out that I have just only booked my first warm water dive this year and that all else have been cold up here in the sound...
(Heading to Dominica for a week of warm water)...
I have a setup that is identical in so many words to that of UP's.
Here is what I use:
AL 6cf Luxfor bottle with a 300bar DIN valve..
SP Mk2 1st stage with OPRV and Button type SPG..
Inflator hose...
However - I'm not adding a lot of gas to my suit - I typically get 8-10 dives on my...
Len,
the context of the reference is that if you have taken a GUE class in my neck of the woods - you suffer from paranoia, because the last thing you would see was a hint of blue gloves before your gas got shut of or your mask took a hike...
The definition of a stroke was given to me by...
he he,
UP and Pete - I think I see where your bet came from - I guess we have new candidates to carry bags for AG?
Anyway - I find the idea of readin Nietzhe during deep stops very interesting - Übermensch - anyone?
Can we define "stroke"? I have yet to see a definition - so it seems...
UP -
argon is denser than air - therefore your argument that the marker or bag will stay vertical on the surface is flawed - it will lay down - the only way to make it raise up out of the water would be to use He - ¿no?
Also - make sure that whatever bag you have - the inlet valve is...
I have to say that I strongly discourage anyone from penetrating - I know of several peopel who will routinely penetrate and leave their buddies behind outside - only to later tell a tale of how they managed to silt out a room and had to feel their way out...
What did Darwin say?
However...
Hey Doc,
Thanks - I have heard that Champagne may not be the dive I will remember the most - but it sure seems to be the only one anybody around here has ever heard of...
I got my flight by using frequent flyer mile and fly into Melville from San Juan.
I have a friend down there who is...
Hey -
I have cashed in some of my FF miles and am going ot Dominica in late April - Want to dive Champagne reef and enjoy the weather in general.
Any experiences with operators or general info on the island?
Thanks,
Big T
(Yes, this will be my first warm water dive trip ever...)
I have to vote for http://www.fifthd.com - GUE shop and even the ow classes are taught to make sure people get proper buoyancy before they are let loose.
Cheers,
Big T
