After reading the original post I would have to agree with everyone else that these ideas are just not pratical. DA Aquamaster said, "And I can just imagine such a ball getting dropped on or rolling across fragile reefs. Not real cool." I would have to agree that this could cause major problems...

I would say this is a bad idea. I am sure there is a safe way to catch every animal, but to just tell people to hunt Lionfish?? Also as String said I do not think this will help with population control in any way.

Thanks guys for all your replys. So it seems that a bounce dive for someone with a purpose is ok, but these other people I see talking about doing them just to do them is pointless and may bite you in the a** one day. Thanks Again.

I dont think he ment it that way. I believe what he was trying to say was WHEN medium quality gear costs $10,000. I guess he is assuming cost will spin out of control in the future.

I have noticed myself that some of these dive shops do not carry anything. I was always wondering why that was. Was it always like this? I would like to be able to go into a LDS and have 30 wet suits to try on, or 20 different BC's. I am new to this sport, so I assume you can not find this type...

Ok, so just like the title reads...What constitutes a logged dive? Is it diving with a buddy and coming back alive? Is it diving with an instructor? Do people just take your word for it that you have logged 1,00 dives? Just curious.

dont know if you are still looking, but my dive team just brought 6 new OS Systems dry suits and we got a government discount because we are a public safety dive team. So whatever you choose you should be getting a discount.
